THE PHILOSOPHY OF LIBERTY

WHO OWNS YOU?

YOU?GOD?

YOUR FAMILY?

THE GOVERNMENT?

REGARDLESS, YOU DECIDE!!!

THIS IS CALLED SELF-OWNERSHIP

Hmm…

OK, so I am self-owned…

I own myself…

That’s cool, now what?

Well, as a free being, you have

NATURAL RIGHTS

You have the Right to live.

You have the Right to act as you see fit.

You have the Right to keep what you makeor exchange it freely for things others make.

LIFE

LIBERTY

PROPERTY

But… do I have the right to make people

respect my authoritay?

Nope. All people have the same Rights as you do.

Your Rights END where the Rights of another BEGIN

ONCE AGAIN,

RIGHTS: NOT RIGHTS:

• Candy• Hats• Secretaries• Authoritay

• Facebook• Golf clubs• Battleships• Robots

• LIFE• LIBERTY• PROPERTY

Now wait just a minute! Are you trying to say that people

do not have the right to…healthcare?!

Yup. You offend me when you steal hard-earned money from people and give it to others for any

reason, no matter how noble!

• Food• Housing• Healthcare• Education• Entertainment

All of these have to be produced and therefore do not fall under the categoryof objective Rights. They have to bevoluntarily given or traded for something.

TAKING THEM BY FORCE IS THEFT

LEFT-WING AND RIGHT-WING IDEOLOGIES SEEK TO ROB YOUOF YOUR INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS

• FASCISM• NATIONAL SOCIALISM• NEOCONSERVATISM

• COMMUNISM• SOCIALISM• PROGRESSIVISM

Then what is the role of government?

• To protect Individual Rights of citizens• To resolve legal disputes• To defend against foreign aggression

NOTHING ELSE!!

BUT WHYNOOOOT?!

BECAUSE NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TOINITIATE FORCE OR COMMIT FRAUD

AGAINST ANOTHER INDIVIDUALOR GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS!

THE PRINCIPLE OF NON-AGGRESSION

NOT EVEN GOVERNMENTS!!!

I wish there was a countryon this earth where ourLiberty was defended…

*words of consent muffled by hood*

There is… our own United States of America…But our love of Liberty has eroded over the years.

We care more about being taken care of thanabout our Liberty.

GIMMEYOUR

MONEY!

AMERICAN HISTORY REVISITED

NOPE

The Declaration of Independence succintly described the manner in which the British

despot abused the Colonies through taxes, lack of representation

AND DISREGARD FOR NATURAL RIGHTS

The result was the American Revolution

John LockeThomas Jefferson

Adam Smith

Brainzzz… Brainzzz…

The Founding Fathers got their ideas of governmentfrom the Enlightenment philosophes who first articulated the philosophy of liberty.

THE U.S. CONSTITUTION WAS COMPILED BASED ON THE VALUES OF LIBERTY!!

So the U.S. government gives us ourliberties through the Constitution? That’s why we have our liberties?

No! You were born with your natural liberties!Through the Constitution YOU give the government

the authority to defend your liberties. The Constitution is not a binding contract on you:

it is a binding contract on the government!

Really…?OOPS…

Yeah!

And so the United States is the only country in theworld where the philosophy of liberty is enshrined

in a binding, written Constitution!

FOR MANY COUNTRIES, STRIVING FOR LIBERTYREQUIRES GREAT CHANGE IN GOVERNMENT.

FOR THE UNITED STATES, IT MERELY REQUIRESFOLLOWING THE CONSTITUTION!!!

BUT HOW DO WEMAKE THAT HAPPEN?
