Sir James Hawkey Hall is the old Woodford Town Hall, opened in March 1955 by former Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill. Its grand mid-century décor and commemorative historical items lend an impressive backdrop to your private function.

The venue is well equipped and is ideal for wedding receptions, pre-wedding parties, social events, birthdays/anniversaries, staged events and large conferences. Available for hire for your exclusive use, Sir James Hawkey Hall is located a short distance from Woodford Underground station on the Central Line and is also well served by buses.

The hall includes a large foyer, smaller side hall with partition, green room, dressing rooms, prayer area/ladies lounge, kitchen, servery and large stage, offering flexibility for a wide range of functions.

The venue has a small car park attached at the front available to all hirers at no extra charge.

There is also an extensive council operated car park attached to the venue which can be used for free outside of the weekday charging hours.

LOCATION

This late Victorian Grade 2 listed building stands as an impressive Victorian landmark in the centre of the shopping and entertainment quarter of Ilford, Essex.

Only 15 minutes from Liverpool Street this beautifully conserved former Council Chamber is available to hire for a range of social functions and events; whilst its proximity to London and central location served by a range of bus routes and rail/underground stations also makes it an ideal venue for conferences and exhibitions.

Originally constructed in 1901 Redbridge Town Hall has two spacious halls available for hire: the Main Hall and the Lambourne Room. The halls are licensed to host Civil Ceremonies, Civil Partnerships, Vow Renewal Ceremonies and Naming Ceremonies.

These halls can be hired exclusively for your use either singly or together to increase capacity. The main hall will seat up to 500 and combined with the Lambourne Room your event can house up to 700.

Main HallThe recently renovated Lambourne Room is the smaller venue within the Town Hall, though still large enough to host a concert or a reception with dance floor. It is also popular for pre-wedding functions, meetings and smaller exhibitions or bazaars. Located in the basement so daylight is via skylights.
