Faith is enjoying her summer to the fullest. She loves to swim, ride her bike and play at the park. Nothing slows this girl down.

What is the biggest challenge she has endured so far?We thought parenting a child with cerebral palsy would have some big challenges, but our little Faith hasn’t met a challenge that she can’t conquer. We never imagined that she would be riding a bicycle, climbing trees or swimming like a fish. Her strength and determination are truly inspirational.

Does Faith have any favorites?Faith loves anythink pink and frilly. She loves to be a princess, and is trying to grow her hair long like Rapunzel. She loves to sing and dance especially to Bollywood music, but her bicycle is her favorite activity. She likes Dora the Explorer and the Fresh Beat Band. She can’t wait to go back to school in the fall. We recently went on vacation to

Colorado and she had so much fun. We visited Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park where we hiked trails and played at beautiful Lake Fork.

Thank you to Brittany’s Hope & its supporters for helping to make Faith part of our family. She is a precious bundle of energy, affection, and joy. We adore her.

Ah….the ‘lazy, hazy days of summer’! We hope you are enjoying this time of year and have had the opportunity to create wonderful memories with family and friends!

The Staff and Board of Directors are enjoying a busy and exciting season and sincerely appreciate you, our valued supporters. Your encouragement, willingness to volunteer your time and talents, prayers and monetary support continue to uplift us to have a positive impact in the lives of so many orphaned children.

Since our last newsletter, 29 more children have come home to their forever families. We hope you enjoy the beautiful faces of those children and know that you have had a hand in bringing out those smiles!

New and exciting things are happening at Brittany’s Hope! Our child sponsorship programs in Ethiopia and Viet Nam have proven to be such a success, that we are expanding the program to include two new centers in Viet Nam!

We thank you for accomplishing so much with us and look forward to continuing to build our relationship with you!

Lee Takes CommandOn June 15th, 2012, five

hundred Civil War Reenactors descended on the property at Iron Stone Ranch, Elizabethtown, PA. For three days, the Union and Confederate armies participated in “Lee Takes Command” as they reenacted the battles of Glendale, Seven Pines & Gaines Mill.

Camped among the orchards, woods and rolling fields, these men and women engaged in their passion for this important time in our history, while benefitting orphaned children around the world. Spectators were invited to witness the last

battle on Sunday afternoon before the participants headed home. The weather was perfect as participants and spectators alike expressed their appreciation of the experience.

It was truly a step back in time for participants and the public, giving them a glimpse of our collective history as well as donating to a good cause. We like to call this “Preserving the Past, and Creating a Future.”

Rear Rank Productions, with Courtney Abel and S. Chris Anders, put on this event in conjunction with, and for the benefit of, Brittany’s Hope Foundation. Mr. Abel, whose

family founded Brittany’s Hope after the death of his sister, has steadfastly held similar events over the past several years in order to raise funds to support the humanitarian programs designed to give orphaned children a better life.

The staff and Board of Directors of Brittany’s Hope wish to thank Courtney Abel, S. Chris Anders, Rear Rank Productions and the many volunteers and participants in “Lee Takes Command” for another wonderful event which raised:

$16,673.00for orphan care.

New Centers in Viet NamBrittany’s Hope Foundation recently made

a commitment to expand our humanitarian efforts and took on two new projects in Viet Nam. As an organization, we feel blessed to be able to expand into other centers in Viet Nam as the programs currently implemented are operating successfully.

After careful consideration, we agreed to take on a Nutrition Program at the Ben Tre Orphanage in Southern Viet Nam and the sponsorship of Ha Tinh in the North. During our recent visit to Viet Nam, many Orphanage Directors came forward to ask for our aid. As much as we wish we could give our commitment to all, financially are in a position to only take on two new centers. Ultimately we picked two centers that we felt had the most needs and have values which align with Brittany’s Hope Foundation.

Both the Ben Tre and Ha Tinh Orphanages are located in very rural areas of Viet Nam. Our partnership is critical to these two

centers as they struggle to find resources that meet the growing number of orphans. In the past, many orphanages in Viet Nam relied on aid from foreign adoption agencies to make-up the short fall of funding allocated by the government. Unfortunately, when adoption between Viet Nam and the United States came to a halt in 2008, American adoption agencies also pulled their funding for humanitarian projects. This not only caused the short fall of funding, but also caused the rise in the number of children residing in institutional care. According to the US State Department, Viet Nam was the 6th largest source of foreign born adoptive children brought into the United States. In 2007 alone, 828 orphaned Vietnamese children were adopted to loving homes in the United States. The rise in the number of orphans and lack of funding is a crisis that has lain heavily on our hearts here at Brittany’s Hope. Our participation in providing nutrition to Ben Tre and creating

another sponsorship opportunity in Ha Tinh will, we believe, make a real and lasting impact on the lives of the children who reside there.

Our commitment to these centers is another opportunity for our dedicated and caring supporters to become involved and make a real difference in the life of a child. We are asking for the support of our donors to step forward and help us to provide nutrition for 64 children at the Ben Tre Orphanage. $20 a month will provide a hungry child with 3 balanced meals daily.

BE THE DIFFERENCEIN A CHILD’S LIFE$35/month provides a child at the Ha Tinh orphanage with essentials like:
