• Lewis Waterman patented the first practical fountain pen in 1884.
• The Pen was created in New York.
Its Inventor
• Lewis Waterman was born on Sunday, November 20, 1836 in Decatur
and he was a famous inventor from the United States.
THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PENS
The two pens are very different because:• The pen uses cartridges.• The dip pen has reservoirs to fill it with ink.• A dip pen is a pen that you dip into ink and you can write
with.•

• The Pen is very important because before the pen was invented all the people wrote with a dip pen.
The Ballpoint Pen
• The Ballpoint pen was created in 1938 by Biro Ladiaslao in Hungary. His partner was Mayne and he helped him escape from the Germans and come to Argentina. The name “birome” is formed by their surnames Biro and Mayne.
