The Pearls of Art Gala is the museum’s largest and most prominent

development event each year, raising approximately half the museum’s

annual operating funds through underwriting, table sales, live and

silent auctions and other support. 2015 will mark the 8th Pearls of Art Gala.

The Gala has become one of the most socially visible events for Northwest

Houston residents, with strong support from the Champions, Champion

Forest, and Northgate Forest communities. The Gala is actually a year-

round event for our community, with strong volunteer involvement, a Gala

Kick-off in the fall, a Gala Pre-Party and Auction at the museum, the Gala

itself, and other community and Gala planning events throughout the year.

The theme of the 2015 event is Cirque de l’ART: an Avant Garde Gala, and promises to be a magical

evening full of elegance, whimsical mystique and entertainment that will delight and soar to new heights!

The cirque rolls into downtown’s The Corinthian on March 28, with catering by Jackson and Company.

2015 Gala Co-Chairs are Carol Cobb and Brooke Rogers. Honorees are prominent art collectors and

philanthropists Bobbie and John Nau, whose collection was previously lent for exhibition at the museum

and will again be featured in 2014 and 2015 exhibitions.

The museum is currently seeking a Gala Title Sponsor ($50,000) for the 2015 Gala. Benefits for the

Title Sponsor are a premium table for 14 at the 2015 Gala, year-round recognition as Title Sponsor at the

museum, in all Gala publications, on the website, and at the event, the Kick-off, and other Gala events,

plus the opportunity to host private events at the museum. You may also support the Gala and the

museum with table purchases, other event sponsorships, or donations to the museum, with appropriate

recognition for your support.

We invite you to visit the Pearl to discover all that it offers and we look forward to seeing you at le Cirque!

About | The Pearl Facts and Figures, 2014 The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, or “the Pearl,” is the Houston Press “Museum of the Year-2010,” and has hosted over 135,000 visitors since opening to the public in March 2008. Located in Northwest Houston (Texas), the Pearl serves the region with art exhibitions from the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) and other lenders. MFAH exhibitions include modern art, Frederic Remington from the Hogg Brothers Collection, African Gold from the Glassell Collection, European art from the Sarah Campbell Blaffer Foundation, and African-Texan pottery from the collections of Bayou Bend. Other public lenders include the Texas Seaport Museum, the State of Texas, the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens of Delray Beach, Florida, and more. The Pearl has also developed outstanding exhibitions from private collections: the Chip Hosek Collection of American Art, the Bobbie and John Nau Collection of Texas Art, the Estate of Rob Erdle, a private Houston collection of Pop Art, a collection of British and French portraiture, and others. All told, the Pearl has hosted 30 exhibitions to date in its two main galleries, plus community gallery exhibitions of regional artists and children’s art. The Pearl develops education programs jointly with its education partners, including the Lone Star College System (community college), the Klein, Spring, Tomball and Conroe Independent School Districts, and other public, private and home school partners. The museum’s writing preparation program assists Spring, Tomball and other fourth-grade students in preparation for Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills testing (now STAAR), and all education programs are carefully coordinated in conjunction with our education partners. Over 8,000 (actual count) students, teachers and chaperones directly participated in the Pearl’s on-site education programs in the 2013 calendar year. In combination with the museum’s own art classes for young children to senior adults, Museum Family Days, Summer Art Camps, Drop-In Wednesdays, Creekfest, public lectures and programs, Docent Tours, recitals and concerts and other educational activities, over half of all the museum’s visitors are directly served through some form of education programs during their visits to the Pearl. The Pearl is wholly supported through the community. No federal, state or local tax dollars are used for museum operations, and the Pearl is not funded or administered through the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The Pearl’s leading annual fundraising event is the “Pearls of Art Gala,” with other social events throughout the year. The museum is an accredited 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations to the Pearl are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Opportunities to support the Pearl include donations, museum membership, exhibition sponsorships, Gala sponsorships, education program sponsorships, permanent naming opportunities, endowment or estate commitments, and other long-term support. All supporters are recognized appropriately and visibly by the museum. For more information, please contact the museum (281-376-6322), Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts, 6815 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379.
