Hi everyone!

First of all, thank you to all who‘ve taken the time to write to us. It’s

been a real encouragement to our hopes and expectations.

We’ve read some very nice New Year’s Resolutions and below you’ll

find the one chosen to be published. To be honest I was planning to

speak about education and then the news was covered with photo-

graphs of killings, not only in Paris but in Baga, Nigeria or Nineveh, Iraq. Now more than

ever this quote must be understood in its full meaning: “Education is the most powerful

weapon which you can use to change the world”, said Nelson Mandela. Classes are soon

to begin and parents, kids and teachers are preparing for the challenge. In your opinion,

what should change to make ours an education for peace?

Dear Mir, This 2015 New Year has marked a threshold regarding how our wishes will

appear and reveal themselves in our lives. The local custom in Spain is to make a wish

per bell toll, 12 in total. In spite of this, I’ve just focused mainly on being happy, looking

happy, making everybody happy and having the soul of rock n’ roll to be bespoken by our

guitars

internationally. In any case, throughout the year I will also use the trick of the “Box of

Wishes” which magically will make every dream that we might put inside it come true.

Copahue & Caviahue

In the Andes, northwest of the province of Neuquén is

located Caviahue - Copahue, a wonderful resort, almost

2,000 meters above sea level in the vicinity of the

Argentine- Chilean border, at the foot of Copahue volcano.

These two locations besides Loncopué and Las Lajas form

the tourist area called Thermal Patagonia.

Hydrotherapy is an activity that stands out in both places.

The development of the spas has its origin in the history of

Copahue volcano, the aboriginal ancestors of the Mapuche

region believing it gave wealth and power for the spirit.

The Copahue hot springs are recognized internationally for

the quality and diversity of its waters, and its therapeutic

properties are endorsed by the World Health Organization.

For fishing enthusiasts the Achacosa, the Escondida, the

Rincón and the Hualcupén lakes and streams arising from

these, allow the chance to catch various types of trout and

perch.

Aluminé

Aluminé: Heaven

One of the most stunning spots in the Andes Mountain Range

It is located in the central west of the province in a high

mountainous area, near the Lanín National Park. Its name in

the mapuche language means brilliant broad valley. Its

particularly beautiful landscape is characterised by the

predominance of abundant native vegetation with mountains

covered in ñires, coihue cane, oak and the splendor of

pehuenes forests, an ancient tree that dominates the area,

plus the bright blue of rivers, waterfalls and lakes. All of

which make it a unique place, where nature is expressed in

its entire splendor. At the same time Aluminé is a town with

about 8000 inhabitants. Its economy is based on sheep and

cattle, forestry and tourism, besides being the main services

centre of Pehuenia area.It is also the area where, if you

love fishing, you can capture Trout and Perches in

each watercourse and lake. Come and discover this

paradise on earth!

The Cicret Bracelet: Like a tablet…but on your skin. Wearers of the Cicret bracelet will be able to check an

email or watch a film that’s projected onto their forearm,

and control the picture by using their skin like a

touchscreen A tiny projector in the bracelet will cast an

image onto the skin then eight long-range proximity

sensors will detect every swipe, tap and pinch. The bra-

celet will also contain a USB port and accelerometer as

well as supporting Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Guillaume Pommier, who founded technology company

Cicret with Pascal, his software developer father, said:

‘We plan to put a 3G card -in the bracelet- to allow calls.’

He explained that the device may use a new technology

that allows SIM details to be put into the hardware,

instead of requiring its own SIM card.

It’s still in development, but a working prototype is due to

be unveiled in a few weeks’ time and Mr Pommier hopes

that the bracelet could be on the shelves by June this

Skype’s real-time translator goes live for registered users on

Windows 8.1 Skype has recently revealed that users who have signed up for its real-time Skype Translator service could give it a try. The service initially supports only Spanish and English as its first two languages for voice communication, but already includes over 40 languages

for live translation of instant messages.

In celebration of the launch, Skype released video showcasing students in the US and Mexico communicating through a phone call in their respective languages in real time. If the video is a fair representation of what it works like in real time, then the

app is putting up a pretty impressive showing.

The company also shared additional background information on how the service actually works, explaining the machine learning process Skype uses to understand the context words are being used in as well

as their meaning.

When crudely drawn animated shorts about a dysfunctional American family began appearing on Fox's "The Tracey “ Ullman Show" in 1987, nobody predicted the birth of a cultural

phenomenon.

Last December 17th marked the 25th anniversary of the half an hour sitcom "The Simpsons,” That’s 561 episodes so far

and counting.

To commemorate this milestone, here are 10 random facts

about the show:

1. Creator Matt Groening named the characters after his own

family members but substituted "Bart" for his own name.

2. The characters' distinctive yellow hue was chosen in part to make the show stand out when someone was flipping through

TV channels for something to watch.

3. It took Danny Elfman three days to compose the show's opening theme song. He's called it the most popular piece of

music of his career.

4. Its town of Springfield was named for its generic Anywhereness (there are 30 all over US). The town's geography has contained rivers, deserts, farmland, mountains

or whatever the story requires.

5. Time magazine named it the best TV show of the 20th

century.

6. Bart is voiced by a woman, Nancy Cartwright. In an opening

sequence during the show's second season, Bart wrote on

the chalkboard, "I am not a 32-year-old woman"

7. Of Krusty the Clown's resemblance to Homer, Groening once said: "The satirical conceit that I was going for at the time was that 'The Simpsons' was about a kid who had no respect for his father but worshiped a clown who looked

exactly like his father."

8. In an episode in 2003, Homer gave his email address as ChunkyLover53@aol.com. Matt Selman signed up for the email address beforehand and within minutes of the show's airing found his inbox packed to its 999-message

limit.

9. Exiled WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange guest-starred as himself on an episode in the show's 23rd season. He recorded his lines over the phone from the Ecuadorian

embassy in Britain, where he has been granted asylum.

10. Among the celebrities who have turned down guest-starring roles on the show: are Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Tom Cruise, Clint

Eastwood, and others.

Splash!!Neuquén has its

own water park!

In mid-December the first water park in the city was opened

at one of the lakes located in the district of Valentina Sur,

meters from Balsa Las Perlas Bridge. A place that has the

facilities to enjoy recreational water sport activities such as

paddling on paddle boards, waterskiing or wakeboarding,

kayaking, paddle boats and blob jump.

"This is not just for tourists but for the young who will have

fun doing sports in a natural environment," said the mayor,

Horacio Quiroga.

The administration of the complex is in charge of the Alto

Valle Snowkite and Kitesurf Association. Entrance to the

site is free and only the rental of boats and sports items will

be charged.

Rafting, Kayaking & Sailing

The Andean rivers of Neuquén offer an exciting experience that allows the tourist to discover inaccessible places and admire unique landscapes descends transparent meltwa-ter. Whitewater rivers have all degrees of difficulty for those who want to practice: from novice to the most demanding and intrepid visitors. The Aluminé River offers an incompa-

rable opportunity for this activity.

The kayaking is an activity that can be practiced on lakes,

rivers and dams throughout the province.

The Limay River is ideal for beginners; and the river Ruca Choroi is one of the best offered by Patagonia for this sport, especially for those who like strong emotions. The Pulmarí, Hua Hum, Quillen, Traful and Litrán rivers, south of the province, have very good conditions for the practice

of kayaking as well.
