• We offer advice, support, equipment and training to anybody with a visual impairment in order to help them to continue to live active, independent lives after sight loss

• The Partially Sighted Society provides Visual Awareness training to professionals and carers, either in-house or at the client’s premises.

• Monthly support group meetings• Active socially as well as on Facebook and Twitter• An in-house printing facility producing heavy lined stationery for both

schools and the public alike

The shaded eye symbol was commissioned by the Partially Sighted Society in the early 1980s for use as its logo. In 1982 it was accepted by the Northern European Sector of the World Health Organisation as the International Symbol of Visual Disability. The Society has used the symbol in various ways so that people have a way of indicating that they have a visual impairment and may need assistance.

printing department where we design and print bold-lined exercise books and other stationery for use in education. These books can be custom-designed to suit the visual impairment and are available with different coloured paper, coloured covers for inclusivity, and different line weights.
