As June comes to an end I would like to just briefly give an
update on a variety of topics. First and foremost thank you for
your continued support as our community continues to transi-
tion. I know some things have changed and while change it is
not always something we seek out or desire, it can be good to
shake things up from time to time. If we become too comfort-
able in our ways it prevents us from growing individually and as
a community.
The month of June brings a lot of the committee meetings to
an end. Our Community Life Committee has been focused on
planning this year's Outdoor Mass & Picnic. Mark your calen-
dars for August 18th! More details will be forthcoming. Volun-
teers will also be needed so keep an eye out for the sign-ups in
the coming weeks. In April our community did a survey to see
what sort of events our community might be interested in. The
committee will be focused on bringing some of these activities to
life in the Fall so stay tuned!
What was once our "Faith Formation" Committee is now
"Spiritual Life." Our Spiritual Life Committee is working on a
few things including another couples retreat/evening reflection as
well as one for the whole community. Our hope is to also have
day pilgrimages in the future to places like Our Lady of Victory
Basilica in Lackawanna, Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Lewiston,
and others, so keep an eye out!
This Fall a brand new committee will begin to meet. It will be
our "Liturgy Committee." The Liturgy Committee will be fo-
cused on things within the Church. Everything for the liturgical
environment to the lay out of the Holy Triduum at Easter will be
topics of conversation.
Our Buildings and Grounds Committee continues to be in con-
tact about various projects here on campus. We are currently
exploring options for new doors to the church as well as new
lights. Our lights are inefficient in several ways and to change
them is not just tedious, it's dangerous. There are grants that we
will look into for our lighting. Everything is just in early conver-
sation stages.
Our Finance Committee continues to meet and makes sure
everything is balanced. Financially we are stable as a par-
ish. Future fundraising and some changes to our operations will
help ensure the stability continues, and perhaps improves.
I have asked the Parish Council to treat September 2019 like
September 2018. With all of the transition going on, I have
asked that everyone stay on with no shake ups at this time.
Many thanks to them during this time in helping make sure
things continue to move along. If you have any interest in any
of the above mentioned committees please feel free to let me
know. All of our committees are always open for new members
and for growth. The Parish Council is the only "committee" at
this time that is set how it is.
As we celebrate our nation's Independence this week, may
God Bless you and all of your families! Celebrate safely! God
Bless America!
Join us Thursday July 4 for Mass at 9am as we pray for our
country! See you at the carnival this week!
In Good Faith,
Fr. Mike

Independence Day Mass
Join us for 9:00 am Mass on July 4th as we thank

perhaps there is no better way to begin the celebration than
with Mass.

tration fee to cover the cost of materials. To ensure

God our Father,
Giver of life,
we entrust the United States of America to Your
loving care.
You are the rock on which this nation was
founded.
You alone are the true source of our cherished
rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness
Reclaim this land for Your glory and dwell
among Your people.
Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of our na-
tion’s leaders.
Open their minds to the great worth of human
life and the responsibilities that accompany hu-
man freedom.
Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted
in seeking and doing Your will.
Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate
Patroness of our land,
May we always hold up high the values of the
gospel in our day to day responsibilities as citi-
zens of this great country.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord.
Amen.
Toiletry Collection for Vets
Located in the back of the church is a laundry basket that will
be used to take up a collection for toiletry kits for Veterans
suffering from PTSD as well as Veterans in nursing homes.
The collection specifically will be delivered to the VA Hos-
pital in Batavia. Toiletry kits can be found in the “Travel”
section of local grocery stores.
