This is God’s Word for my life in this Place and

at this Time. Today I am a new creation in

Christ, I am God’s very own, and I KNOW He

has a purpose for my life.

Now the tax collectors and sinners were all

gathering around to hear Jesus. But the

Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered,

“This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Then Jesus told them this parable:

Page 7: The Parable of the Lost Sheep

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and

loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-

nine in the open country and go after the lost

sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he

joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.

Then he calls his friends and neighbors together

and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost

sheep.’

I tell you that in the same way there will be more

rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents

than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do

not need to repent.”

Rejoicing in REPENTANCE

1. CONFESSION – REALIZE we are wrong!Confession begins with your mind and your mouth.

2. CONTRITION - REMOURSE over what we’ve done. This is your emotions and your expressions.

3. CHANGE – REARRANGE life’s prioritiesIntentionally moving, acting and pursuing a new destination

This is the true joy of life, the being used up for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances, complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

Life is no “brief candle” to me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for a moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.

George Bernard Shaw
