Use of narrative at the start of the video with a girl lay down in a field.

Mise en scene of the video they use low key lighting implying a time of day being early morning.

Wearing simple clothing with no make up on gives connotations to indie genre being simplistic and natural.

The use of a close up in this shot links to the narrative elements and is redundant in the way this is an older couple falling in love.

Use of Andrew Goodwins theory the lyrics match the visuals as she wakes up the lyrics are’ In the morning when I wake’.

Change in mise en scene to a male gives the narrative the idea of it being a love story which is highly redundant and stereotypical of a indie video.

Wanting to communicate with the girl but has a tin can phone linking the lyrics to the visuals again, ‘should I write it in a letter?’

The body language of the male is very laid back and relaxed, appealing to the target audience as this would be what they are like.

The location of this shot is generic with indie music videos all being filmed in the outdoors

A change in narrative from a narrative video to a performance video which is typical of the indie genre. Also cuts in sections of narrative in-between lyrics.

Entropic feature is the amount of performers as it is usually only the singer on an acoustic instrument whereas this is the entire band.

Using a wide angle shot allows for a wide view on the entire performance of the video

The lyrics ‘can I be close to you’ and pans around the tree. Then goes back into the narrative segment of the video.

The use of a wide angle shot gives a view of the entire scenery giving the feeling of a wide open space and is typical of the indie genre using outdoors locations.

The mise en scene of the clip is generic with the use of simple shirts and jeans, connoting being simple.

The beat of the music also changes having a slightly faster tempo to match with the tracking of the camera.

Denouement at the end of the video as the male and female finally meet and go off into the sunset.

The lyrics match the visuals of him wanting to be close with the female, connoting love and intimacy.

The wide angle long shot emphasizes the emptiness of the video and focuses attention onto the couple in the centre.

The body language of the scene also connotes love and happiness, with the use of smiles and holding hands.
