How the Olympic Games Started!

The Olympics started around 770 BC, in Olympia.

(By the way, the next bit of this story is NOT true.)

Zeus (the god of all gods) sent Heracles in a race

with a few other people, Heracles

won and was crowned. And that

was one of the first Olympic races.

This is one of the Greek Myths, the

myth says that Heracles planted an

Olive tree which the ancient Greeks

used to make wreaths out of.

Sprinting, Boxing, Discus throwing,

Chariot racing and Horse racing !

2008 OlympicsThe 2008 Olympics were held in Beijing

and the Chinese came first. TheOlympics start every 4 years. They have stuff like Swimming, Archery and that’s only 2 of them there are loads more.
