The difference between Motivation and Inspiration; This month I would like to share with you some information I came across that clarifies the difference between being motivated and being inspired. A writer by the name of Johnathon stated the following: “It may seem like a subtle distinction, but the worlds of motivation and inspiration are millions of miles apart. A lot of people use the words “motivated” and “inspired” inter-changeably. But I’ve found something different to be the case.” He goes on to state “When I try to motivate myself, nine times out of ten I’m pushing myself to do something I don’t really care about. Motivation is about psyching yourself up. Chest-pounding. Fire-walking. Heavy-metal riffs. You get the point!” Inspiration, on the other hand, comes from a completely different place. The word inspiration means to be in spirit. When you’re tuned into your spirit, you are naturally drawn to do that which has greater value. You may at times do things that aren’t outwardly productive. Or you may write a book in 30 days. Ei-

ther way, it’s all good because fulfillment is the end result. Motivation, on the other hand, usually has a lot to do with what is often called “fake growth”. You think you should be doing something and it often leads in the direction that doesn’t really matter. It’s what you’re “supposed” to be doing. It may be a great idea however it most usually is not a passionate, burning desire that emanates from the core of your being. So, motivation is about things you think you should do or believe you’re supposed to do. Inspiration is about being called to act because you’re in direct alignment with the magnetic, luminous marrow of potential that is within you. When you’re inspired you know because…”Life feels effortless! You have to hold yourself back from starting right now! Your passion burns steady, it doesn’t flatline! It occupies magnitudes of mental space, there’s no vacancy! You feel called to do this; the feeling comes from your inner core! You feel it in your bones! You might be thinking… “How do I get inspired?” Well, you can’t! Inspiration isn’t something you get, it comes from within, it comes from your core. So being inspired isn’t about doing something external to bring something in. That’s motivation, remem-ber? Being inspired is about a constant process of realignment. Whenever you’re feeling like you have to push, it’s time to realign. Whenever you’re feeling like you’re not enjoying life, it’s time to realign. Whenever you feel like you’re trying to fulfill a quota or expectation, it’s time to realign. Realignment isn’t anything complicated. It’s very simple, actually. All it involves is drawing inward and exploring what you really want. Your home cosmography, as Tho-reau put it. So, what do you really want? Not what should you want! What lights you up? Once you’ve got a grasp on that, stay with it for a little while. It always feels good and uplifting. If it doesn’t feel good, you’re still not there. Keep going. Once you’ve come to that state of anticipation, you’re inspired. You’re In Spirit. And you’d rather have that than trying to motivate yourself, right? May each of us reach the point where we are truly “Insired” to be the Noble that embodies the value of our obligation as a Master Mason. Fraternally Rev. Les McClelland, Assistant Rabban

TEBALA REPRESENTED IN OREGON FESTIVAL

It was a ‘cold’ windy Sunday October 4th in Oregon, but what a huge crowd at the parade. A huge parade in itself. With 8 different divisions and 10 -12 parade units in each division, one of the biggest parades Tebala units participate in each year. The crowd was 4 & 5 deep and you couldn’t get near the fair in the downtown area. According to officials, biggest crowd for a parade on record! The Blue Haze Choppers and the Loves Park Shrine Club proudly represented Tebala in this parade and want to thank the 20 or more Tebala Shriners who gave us a shout out and applaud-ed us as we passed them along the parades route. LOVES PARK SHRINE CLUB NEWS…(and random thoughts)

NOVEMBER…The month you set your scale back 10 lbs., before Thanksgiving; also the month of our final meeting of the year. My Lady Delores and I will be in Texas on our October meeting night and won’t be back in Illinois until after the DEAD-LINE!! I’ll be as accurate as I can be. Annual meeting/Ladies Nite Out will be November 12. Details in the monthly meeting notice. Reserva-tions are a must. 2015 had some firsts: Ashton, Elk Grove Village and Creston were all firsts for our Parade Unit. The first complete shut-down occurred at Ja-nesville…Everything was cancelled. The first year we didn’t have DAY-OLD doughnuts (or maybe it was-n’t). Speaking of doughnuts…a big thank you to Noble Ray Olson for his thoughtfulness. Another first was the return of Noble Tom Storm to active duty. Since the Chanters and way back to the mini-scooter days, he joined us on the carousel several times this year. Thanks Tom. Another mishap to our carousel oc-curred in September and was promptly repaired by the West fami-ly. Noble Dallas paid for and his son did the reconstruction. We were good to go the next week. Thanks to the West family for their generous assistance. We will be dark beginning in De-cember until April 2016, however, you can still send your $10.15 dues to the address at the end of the col-umn. OTHER NOVEMBER STUFF: Black Bart’s last robbery in Califor-nia was on November 3, 1883. A meteor fell into Lake Michigan on November 27, 1919. WH0 SAID THAT? “Don’t find fault, find a remedy.” Henry Ford “Show the world you are grateful and life opens another realm to you.” Brendon Burchard “Keep your eyes on the stars, but remember to keep your feet on the

ground.” Theodore Roosevelt “Let no feeling of discouragement prey upon you, and in the end you are sure to succeed.” Abraham Lincoln “The most important trip you may take in life is meeting people half-way.” Henry Boyle “Setting goals is the first step in turn-ing the invisible into the visible.” Anthony Robbins “Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” Mark Twain “The best thing to hold onto in life is each other.” Audrey Hepburn “Every mountain top is within reach if you just keep climbing.” Barry Finley RECENT T-SHIRT SIGHTINGS: I WORK WELL WITH OTHERS AS LONG AS THEY LEAVE ME ALONE All of the good Chemistry jokes Argon WE’LL BE FRIENDS TILL WE’RE OLD AND SENILE THEN WE’LL BE NEW FRIENDS I KNOW IT SOUNDS . LIKE I’M IN DENIAL…. BUT I’M NOT! IF IT IS TRUE THAT WE LEARN FROM OUR MISTAKES I WILL SOON BE A GENIUS! IF YOU ARE AGITATED AND CONFUSED MY WORK HERE IS DONE.. CLEVERLY DISGUISED AS A RESPONSIBLE ADULT

LAUGH A LITTLE TIME: Appreciated A famous football coach was on va-cation with his family in Maine. When they walked into a movie thea-ter and sat down, the handful of peo-ple there applauded. He thought to himself, “I can’t believe it. People recognize me all the way up here.” Then a man came over to him and said, “Thanks for coming. They won’t start the movie unless we have ten paying people or more.” Getting Older I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor’s permission to join a fitness club and start exercising. I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But by the time I got my leotards on, the class was over. It’s about time to duck out, but just a reminder—Please forward your ide-as, comments, questions, complaints, Atta-boys, suggestions or whatever to: President PP Leon Larson at 1-815-633-7437 (home) or 815-494-1554 (mobile): Vice President PP Tom Runge At 1-815-389-8622 (home) or 815-222-6566 (mobile) Secretary Gene Snyder At 1-779-473-0222 (home) or 1-815-520-4997 (mobile) or Treasurer Jim Hall at 1-815-633-1784.
