ALOHA!!! We couldn’t be more excited to have your “ohana” (family) joining ours for summer 2017 on “the Island”. As the palm trees begin to sway in the Ozark trade winds our longing for sunshine, swimming pools and vacation time gets closer to reality with each passing day, K-Kauai’s ready and waiting for YOU! The “Island” and our staff are geared up for K-Kauai’s best summer yet and we can’t wait to share the memories from summer 2017 with each of you. We are anxiously anticipating your arrival and look forward to the opportunity to serve your family this summer. So, c’mon already summer, get here!

As we tell our guests often, “This is your vacation!” So... everything is optional. It’s our pleasure to provide a fun-filled program for guests of all ages, but it’s your choice as to how much or how little you want to experience. This “Guide To Island Life” will help you with that process as you get a feel for K-Kauai and what your time with us can consist of. So, to prepare, close your eyes for a minute & think summer, family, fun, relaxing, enriching... then open your eyes to all that K-Kauai has to offer and dive in to your “Guide To Island Life.”

“Surf’s Up!” and so are our SHAKAs...The Shaka, or “Hang Loose” hand gesture, is used for Alohas

(hello/goodbye/much love), but more often gets thrown in response to someone’s actions.

Traditionally, the bigger the action, the more Shaka is thrown in response. As the world seems to get more

shocking every day, are we more shocked by the world or shocking to the world by how we live? While we

create space for you to “Hang Loose” on your vacation we hope your time on the island will afford you the chance to “Hang Tight” to each other and to the

promises of our Creator and the Creator of this world. “You are from God, little children, and have overcome

PARENT NIGHTSYou may want to bring some nicer clothes for the two parent nights at Kamp ... (one with the option to go out if you choose.)

HAIR DRYER/IRONWe do not have hair dryers or irons in the rooms. Make sure to pack one before leaving.

QUARTERS FOR LAUNDRYIf you need to wash some clothes while on the island bring some quarters and detergent.

*PAINTBALLIf you plan on playing bring

long sleeves, pants and anything that you don’t mind

getting stained.

TENNIS SHOES//WATER SHOESBring a good pair of tennis shoes and water shoes for the excursions. You will be on land and in the water!

SOCKSA special reminder to pack socks because they are required for “Lele Hale” giant inflatables.

MESSY CLOTHESMake sure to pack a set of clothes that can get messy because you’ll need them for certain games in this year’s program.

All of our buildingson the resort are air-conditioned for your comfort.

We will have a doctor and nursingstudent dr. available 24/7 just in case of any emergencies. Our local hospital is less than 5 minutes away.

We have no TV’s or phones in our cabanas. TV is available in Muscle Beach (our workout facility) and a few other locations.

All expenses wil be charged to your room and will be paid upon departure. There is no need to carry your credit card with you.

Wireless internet is available in our coffee shop, Hale Makua Chapel and Hale Olina Dining Hall.

Don’t worry about packing any bed or bath linens because those will be supplied to you.

YOGA, YOGA, YOGA!!! We’re turning our full-family K-LIFE into a full body workout. We’ve

got experts on the island to take you through mental, physical,

and emotional activities featured on the patent-pending series “YOGonnA SWEAT.” Don’t come expecting your typical gym routine, though, this is K-Life,

so there will be fun for the whole family. Start stretching now and

remember our motto, “If your clothes ‘aint wet, then you ‘aint hype yet!” Bring your best and brightest “workoutfits.” Yoga mats welcomed, but please

remember “modest is hottest,” so it’s time to bring back those leg warmers, shorts over tights,

sweatbands galore, and as much dri-fit as you can get, because “YOGonnA SWEAT”

at this K-LIFE!

e – mc^ x 12 + 3.14 = HE > i…We think that adds up, but we’ve been

having a few “glitches” in the system lately. So, just to be sure, on the second

parent / kid night, we’re bringing in the nation’s best and brightest scientists (YOU). We’re cooking up

something special in the lab for this night with the help of our friendly

K3POhana robots. We’ll keep one eye on our microscopes and one eye out

for the Mad Scientist who keeps trying to reprogram our robots. Make sure you wear your labcoats, credentials, gloves & glasses for access into our

blacklight lab. Oh no, it’s another malfunction, the alarm just went off,

HURRY we need your help! Parents, this is just for the kids while you

are on a date or enjoying fellowship.

For it’s 1, 2, 3 Strikes you’re…about to be OUT of here. So, on the last night of kamp, before you Run Home, let’s hit some Home Runs together on K-Kauai’s very own field of dreams. It’s game day on the island, so head to the locker room and put on a uniform that reps your family, your favorite team, or your favorite era of America’s favorite pastime. This all-star night, covered by KSPN, is sure to be filled with crackerjacks, contests, and all the craziness a ballpark has to offer. For your last night of Kamp we’ll take you out with a ballgame...back, back, back...IT’S GONE!!!

Arrrrr You Xcited? X marks the spot even though “R” be a pirate’s favorite letter. Grab your parrots, patches, and

peg legs along with your bandanas and blades for this family adventure.

Ye best be ready to drop anchor at any moment as we search the

KAUAIbean for the lost treasure of Monster Cookie Cove. Chips, I mean Ships AHOY mateys! We be settin’

sail with full warning that there won’t be any “parLAYIN’ around“ on the island during this treasure hunt!
