* SPECIAL AWARD CLASSES *

As a club we are aware of the lack of Classes at many Open Shows, which in turn hinders many of our judges to reach the required amount of ‘hands on’ experience of Bichon Frise to enable them to progress through our judging lists. We have liaisedwith the Kennel Club and decided to offer ‘Special Awards Classes’ at our Champion-ship Shows, where hopefully there is already a good entry for the Show itself and many of these exhibitors will also support this idea, giving the invited judge for the Special Award classes a nice entry to go over and therefore enabling them to includethese on their C.V. for progression through the lists.

N.B. These Special Awards are judged as an entirely separate entity from the show and will be judged during the lunch time period. A dog beaten in competition for a Special Award is not considered to be a beaten dog for the purposes of Regula-tions F(1)26 and 27. (Best Puppy in Show and Best in Show)

The Special Award classes are entirely arranged as a method of promoting B or C listjudges. All dogs entered into these classes must also be entered into the main show classes.

Our choice of judge for today is Mrs Nicola Bruce (nee Venables) - Beausox

A. Special Award Puppy Dog or BitchB. Special Award Post Graduate Dog or BitchC. Special Award Open Dog or Bitch

To Enter please put entry code of A, B or C for appropriate class, entry fee is £1.00 per class please note that all dogs/bitches must be entered in the main show.

Please support this initiative as hopefully this will support up and coming judges to gain the relevant experience.

Soft crates left unattended at the ringside are a potential hazard particularly when occupiedby large breeds, and it has been known for dogs to become distressed and move soft crates alongthe floor and also escape. Soft crates should only be used when there is sufficient room availableand when they can be safely secured.

Specific dogs may be photographed only with the approval of the exhibitor. No photography or filming is permitted in breed judging rings whilst judging is actually taking place. However, judges may allow it to happen at the end of classes. Filming and flash photography is allowed from outside the rings at all times unless the operation of the camera is actually affecting exhibits. However,if a powerful flash unit is used or it is clear that exhibits are being affected, a ring steward or the judge is empowered to stop the person concerned.
