SHEPPARD HOUSE—WORKING WITH OTHERS Being a community based enterprise gives us the opportunity to work closely with others and we are particularly pleased to work with students from Newent school. Every Wednesday afternoon four students from the school join us to help with activities and crafts. They will be with us until well into the New Year. GCC Cabinet member for Health and Housing Andrew Gravells will be making a visit to

us in December to see the work we do and to gain an insight on what it means for Members to have Sheppard House to visit. Mr Gravells will be welcomed by Pippa English Penfold the Association’s manager.

SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING Pippa English Penfold has been successful in securing funding for the refurbishment of the second Bathroom at Sheppard House. Both Gloucestershire County Council’s ComBi grant and the Summerfield Trust have promised funds to complete this much-needed work. Demand for the bathing service is growing and with aids and adaptations for bathrooms outside the reach of many private householders, the service provided at Sheppard House is key.
