TECHNICAL ARTS TEAMGadgets, gismos, and God are the focus of the “tech team” here at Berean. Most of our ministries rely on the use of technical support in the form of sound, lyrical support, lighting, and video transmission. We could use you on our team! We will provide training on the equipment and ask for involvement one to two times per month. This is a ministry for all ages! Questions? Contact Kay Larson.

DRAMAOur drama ministry enhances the theme of Vacation Bible School as well as produces videos and skits for sermon illustrations and announcements. If you are gifted in the dramatic arts or interested in video production, please contact Dana Ward.

WORSHIP TEAMRehearsal: Thursdays, 7-9pmThe worship team assists in leading worship during the contemporary services. This team is open to those age 16 or older who are comfortable singing parts and are able to improvise. Instrumentalists/vocalists must be able to practice on their own time and come prepared for rehearsal. The worship team leads during both contemporary services, and in special worship services throughout the year. If you are interested in auditioning for the worship team, please contact Terry Foss.

HANDBELL CHOIRRehearsal: Sundays, 6-7pm, Room 112Handbells add variety and interest to the worship services approximately once a month and at Christmas and Easter. Plus, they are fun to play! Anyone age 16 and over, with the ability to read music and the willingness to commit to the rehearsal time, is welcome. For more information, contact Clare Boyer.

ORCHESTRARehearsal: Wednesdays, 5:45-6:40pmBerean features the orchestra for special events and projects such as Christmas Concerts, Easter and on highlighted Sunday services. The orchestra adds fullness and depth to the choir and congregational singing. It also provides special musical numbers in the 8:30am Sanctuary service and for special occasions. Requirements are: competency on an instrument, attendance to scheduled rehearsals, and availability to play at the scheduled performances. For more information, contact Clare Boyer.

SANCTUARY CHOIRRehearsal: Wednesdays, 6:45-8:15pmThe Sanctuary Choir is for anyone age 16 and over, who can sing, learn, and hold their own part. The choir regularly sings in the Sanctuary service (8:30am) and also participates in concerts throughout the year. For more information, contact Clare Boyer.

WORSHIP CHOIRRehearsal: Thursdays, 7-9pm (when scheduled)Berean’s worship choir is an exciting and relatively new addition to Worship Ministries! They join the contemporary worship team approximately every 4-6 weeks for both contemporary services. We are actively seeking choir members of all ages. If you can carry a tune and love to sing (singing parts is not necessary), this is the place for you! Contact Kay Larson for more information.

CHILDREN’S CHOIRSRehearsal: Wednesdays, 5:55-6:45pmWe have four age-appropriate choirs for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Raindrop, Sonbeam, Promise, and Rainbow choirs contribute to Sunday services, special events and the presentation of a full musical during the school year. A younger choir for four year olds is also available by early registration only, due to size limitations.

The Children’s choirs will sing as part of our morning worship services on December 2.

BAPTISMSunday, September 30Baptism is the external expression of our inward and personal faith. It declares “Jesus is Lord” in a public and visible fashion, announcing to everyone that we have surrendered to a new authority in our lives. Berean offers indoor baptism during the fall/winter/spring months.

You might have questions about why we baptize by immersion, if you should be re-baptized as an adult, or even if baptism is a requirement for salvation. These questions and more will be answered in the pre-requisite class. Classes will be earlier in September. Watch the Sunday bulletin for more details or contact Kay Larson.

Local Outreach

How can I receive help?We are always looking to support people in our community. If you have a need or know someone who does, please contact Vanessa Edwards, Local Outreach Director.

FIRST FOODSThe first Sunday of each month, Berean collects donations of non-perishable food and other items to be shared with Berean families in need, as well as to help stock local food shelves and other local organizations. Donations are collected at specially marked tables in the Commons and in the lower level. We could also use help delivering the donated food to various locations. Let us know if you are interested!

BEREAN NEIGHBORHOOD CAREHow can I get involved?Berean Neighborhood Care (BNC) consistently partners with people in our local community by meeting practical needs. If you, your small group, ABF, or other group would like to reach out and serve God by helping those in need, contact us to find out ways you can get involved. BNC can connect you in serving alongside local and urban organizations such as Urban Homeworks, The Salvation Army, Mission Outpost, and more.

ONE-TIME OPPORTUNITIES Watch for BNC announcements for fun, one-time opportunities to serve. We do everything from making sandwiches for the homeless to building garden beds to stocking food shelves.

The Mission of BNC is to serve people by meeting their practical needs as an

expression of Christ’s love.

FURNITURE MINISTRY BNC’s furniture ministry has helped many families in our church and community. We accept many types of donations in good condition. Want to donate? Check our website for a list of the items we do and do not accept. Want to help deliver? If you have a truck, van, or just a heart to help out, let us know--we always need more help picking up and delivering furniture. Please sign up on the website or contact Vanessa Edwards.

GIVE TO GO!Berean supports over 50 missionaries and numerous ministries and special projects

solely through offerings designated for Global Outreach. Please prayerfully consider designating a portion of your giving to Global Outreach in addition to your regular

giving to Berean’s general budget.

Thank you!!

HUI INITIATIVEThe Hui are an unreached Muslim people living in Asia, numbering over 12 million, and are believed to be the largest people group in the world without a single known Christian fellowship group. Berean has responded to the call to reach this group by promoting short-term trips and projects to assist our missionary partners, and by praying for the Hui on a consistent basis. If you are interested in becoming involved with this initiative, join us for prayer on the first Wednesday evening of every month. To learn more, contact Elaine Tymchak.
