TO THE CLASS OF 1940
I am glad to be among the first to have on opportunity to extend you greetings. I can assureyou my good wishes and congratulations comefrom my heart.
It is hard for me to realize that another schoolyear has slipped by and that the employees of thisschool are again faced with the fact that they havedone what they could to help prepare another finegroup of young pople for the future and the biggerproblems of life.
There is so little I can say that is really new,yet so much that I would like to say to encourageyou to always do your best that I hardly knowwhere to begin.
I have watched your class develop from the timeyou were first initiated into the "mysteries" of theCh locco Agricultural School customs, rules, etc. Those days may seem to be long since past butI expect they are by no means forgotten. Let mesay you have come a long way in my estimationsince those first days at Chilocco in the fall of1936-37 You have gained much knowledge andwisdom but, above all, most of you have caughtthe Chilocco spirit to really do something worthwhIle. Le me say to you as my parting advice,to never lose sight of these good ntentions andspirit to do the best you can.
Please always remember that there is an unlimited amount of pleosure and satisfoction inpro Ing yourself ond Ilv'ng up to what youreachers and loved ones expect of yau.
L. E. CORRELL, Superintendent
