The authentic Moroccan Hammam is an experience that all tourists MUST experience in their visit to Morocco.

A Moroccan national once said "in every new district in Morocco, there has to be a police station, a mosque, and a Moroccan Hammam"

The building usually contains from three to four rooms each marked with a dome and differs in temperature, they open onto each other as the first room is the coolest, the

temperature rises until you reach the hottest one.

It heats up by natural burning wood underneath in the basement. The floor heats up to the extent that no one can walk barefoot, the keepers of the

bath sometimes pour water on the floor to create the steam.

4. The specialist then start to shower you from head to toe, then rubs you with Moroccan soap and olive soap. After that, the room gets rapidly filled with steam while you lay on your built in bench until the soaps foams.

5. The steam is then quickly sucked and your specialist re-enter the room to give you an exfoliating scrub with the special Moroccan Hammam loafah that rubs off all the dead skin and open the pores. The specialist then proceeds with washing you.

6. Moroccan mud, scented oils and herbs are rubbed on you and the room fills up with steam again. After a while, the specialist gives you some of the Moroccan soap and exits the room while you clean your privet area alone and shower one final time.
