The Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) sent a candidate survey to each Democrat and Republican winner following the state primary election in August. Below are responses from state candidates. You are encouraged to use the MCUA Voter’s Guide in advance of the November election and to share this information with others. If a particular candidate did not respond to the survey, you are encouraged to use these questions to ask for their stance on credit union issues. State Candidate Questions:*
1. Are you a credit union member?2. Have you or anyone in your family served as a volunteer on a credit union board or committee?3. Do you believe there should be size restrictions on credit unions (assets or members)?4. Out of 114 counties in Missouri, there are more than 30 that cannot currently be served by a credit union. Would you be in favor of opening up those counties to allow all Missouri residents an opportunity to choose a credit union?5. Would you support legislation to help close the gaps in consumer notification and institute a shared financial responsibility for entities that do not protect consumers’ data?

Yes,CommentsThe replacement of compromised credit cardshas become a commonplace aggravation forconsumers. The costs must be enormous tofinancial institutions.
