As the future generation of business leaders and executives, young professionals in the construction industry are very important to ABC. That is why we want to honor them and recognize the leading young professionals in the association with the new Young Professional of the Year Award.

As you're reading this, does a certain young professional in your region come to mind? You can nominate them today by completing the online nomination form on youngprofessionals.abc.org. All you have to do is enter their name, complete some basic information, and provide a short 250‐word explanation on why you are nominating them. Once nominated, the young professional will be given a short application to showcase their involvement in ABC and their leadership skills.     In addition, you can help to promote the award by using the web and Facebook banners available on youngprofessionals.abc.org/chapter‐resources. Please feel free to pass this information along to members of your chapter you think would be interested in nominating a young professional for the award.

Kulapat Yantrasast of Los Angeles is architect.Jackson, MS Capitol Arts Loft Apartments by HRI Properties has secured funding to renovate 8 historical buildings. Construction to begin this Fall.Clinton, MS Blackwater Resources of Birminham is petitioning Clinton for re-zoning of 38 acres near MC to plan for retail development. A. Thearchitect/engineerwillrecordissueofset(s)ofprojectplansandspecifications,withoutrequirement ofplandeposit,toABCMembersbyname.

B. Thisprocedureshallapplytothebiddingphaseofaprojectonlyandhasnoapplicationtoissuanceof planstothesuccessfulbidder. C. ItshallbetheresponsibilityoftheABCmembertoidentifyhimselftothearchitect/engineeratthetime plansareissuedtobeentitledtotermsofthisagreement.

D. The architect/engineer will call upon the ABC to honor plan deposit guarantee should one of its contractormembers:

1 Notreturnplansandspecificationstoarchitect/engineerwithinten(10)daysafterbidsare receivedwithoutprioragreementofarchitect/engineer.
