MESSAGE FROM HERB WARD, SAFETY DIRECTOR “Urgent” Message Regarding ABC National’s S.T.E.P. Safety Awards Program Since its inception, at the beginning of each year ABC National has mailed each ABC member in the country an application for the S.T.E.P. safety awards program for that year. If you are patiently checking the mail for your application “you won’t find it”. For 2016 the application is only available online. By now, an email was recently sent to all ABC members from the ABC national office in Washington. The email addressed this change and provided a link to apply online. This was an email you would not have been expecting and therefore may have overlooked or possibly deleted. You can make application online by going to www.abc.org/stepapp. Each state has set its own deadline for receiving applications usually based on their Safety Awards event. Mississippi Associated Builders & Contractors S.T.E.P. application deadline due date is June 30, 2016. Note: If you absolutely cannot make application online you will still be able to apply using the traditional paper S.T.E.P. application, which may be downloaded by clicking here for the 2016 S.T.E.P. Application Instruction Book. However, there is now a $35.00 S.T.E.P. application processing fee required with each paper application submitted (waived for S.T.E.P. Diamond and Platinum applicants). This fee will cover the cost of staff manually entering S.T.E.P. application data upon receipt and is designed to encourage members to utilize the online application, which remains free of charge. There are no paper applications available at our MABC office. The completed application with the required attachments and the $35.00 application fee by check made out to “ABC National” must be set to Herb Ward, MABC, 5165 Old Brandon Road, Pearl, MS 39208 by June 30, 2016. Please do not make the $35.00 application check to MABC or ABC of Mississippi or it will be voided. The fee check and completed application is forwarded by the Mississippi Chapter to ABC National, 440 First Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20001. Also note that the separate Mississippi ABC Chapter Safety Award application will be mailed to our MABC members by early summer. The 2016 MABC Safety Awards Luncheon held at the Country Club of Jackson will be September 28, 2016. Mark your calendar.

B. Thisprocedureshallapplytothebiddingphaseofaprojectonlyandhasnoapplicationtoissuanceof planstothesuccessfulbidder. C. ItshallbetheresponsibilityoftheABCmembertoidentifyhimselftothearchitect/engineeratthetime plansareissuedtobeentitledtotermsofthisagreement.

D. The architect/engineer will call upon the ABC to honor plan deposit guarantee should one of its contractormembers:
