Our research drove us to focus on four main assets: History, Amenities, Density, and Wind. The data influenced the inspiration of a mission on site, easy access to healthy livability, mass of attraction, and orientation of our amenities.

Our design formatted the circulation by Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary paths throughout our programmed site zones. Shade structures were configured and implemented to keep residents cool from the harsh desert sun.

ENLARGED PLAN

A typical courtyard with a Secondary Path going horizontally, and a Tertiary Path going vertically around the housing units. Native plants were used throughout the pathways to create courtyards, cooler spaces, and niches for native wildlife to reside.

The migrant worker’s pilgrimage from home to perceived “opportunity” will be mapped as a progression on site. The site is a woven platform, sewed with elements such as social dynamism, traditions at home, and traditions in the new land.

Sections provide the viewer to understand the ascending motion up towards The Mission with the supporting columns of healthy living following. Native trees and materials are used for low costs and to beautify the space in an indigenous approach.
