The marriage ceremony in December (pictures are taken in Bareilly)
Reshu’s family believe in the divine powers of a specific temple in the outskirts of Bareilly. In the
morning, we went to this temple for the puja (prayer) of Lord Hanuman and then we used the sindoor
(vermillion) to get married [according to Hindu religion applying sindoor (in the parting of the hair – near
the forehead) is the most important ritual in the marriage ceremony].

In the evening, we performed the ceremony according to the tradition of Pritam’s side of the family.
Pritam’s family are strong followers of Vihangam Yoga, and thus we got married with the blessings of
Lord Sadguru maharaj. First we performed the puja of Sadguru maharaj and then we followed
somewhat traditional customs (according to Hindu religion) of exchanging garlands, wedding rings and
gifts from the two sides of the family.
