During break from college classes, a number of Rotary

scholars had a chance to attend our January 4 Rotaryluncheon. Each year, we have approximately 80 students

receiving four-year college scholarship assistance throughnamed funds within our Madison Rotary Foundation. The

majority of students have an assigned Rotary mentor as away to keep them connected to Rotary and to also be

available should they have questions about course selection, etc., during their college years.

During the Scholar Mentor session held prior to our

luncheon, students learned about a new section beingdeveloped on our website to connect scholars to Rotarians

who have internships available. Paul Riehemann also ledparticipants through an icebreaker exercise.

Ellie Schatz chairs the Scholar Mentor Committee, andshe annually organizes this January gathering as well as a

picnic in July before students head back to school. Thanks,Ellie, for making arrangements for the students to attend

our January 4 meeting.
