WIZARDS WORLD
Thank you for making me your president. I will continue the legacy of making Ring 55 one of the best rings in the world. Like the rest of the world which keeps changing and evolve, the magic industry has
to do the same. Brick and mortar magic shops are giving way to online shops. Magicians now communicate in web forums and chat rooms. There are even live video chats and webinars for
magicians. The world is more interactive and I feel magic clubs like ours need to do the same. I want to listen to your comments and suggestions on the type of services you want from our organization. We need to get more members to take part in the club. Even the most beginner magic hobbyist has
good ideas they can share with the rest of us. After consulting with members and taking their suggestions, I like to add some new features to our agenda which will benefit our members and
further the goals of the club to expand our knowledge of our art, and help us improve our performances. Two ideas things I like to try include...
WIZARDS WORLD will be a new section in our Lota Newsletter where members are invited to share an idea, a source for something related to Magic, a new trick that's especially good or bad, a book
review, a biography or autobiography (new members), an old trick that may merit a reintroduction to our group, an especially good deal in the marketplace etc. Please submit content to
[email protected] IN PROGRESS BRAINSTORM: I want to set aside 10-15 minutes at each meeting for a
member to share with us a routine or trick with us they are working on. and need ideas to help them polish the trick into a finished project. Basically the member shows us what he has so far, and we offer hims tips, ideas, or even jokes or gags he can use to make his works a finished piece of art.

Would the club please put out the word that these folks are looking for a free show for a volunteers appreciation luncheon in November...contact Debbie at the email address below if you are interested. Thanks!BZ -------Original Message------- From: [email protected]: 6/3/2011 9:00:50 PMSubject: question My volunteer work has a volunteer luncheon on an annual basis and we like to have some entertainment with no cost. Would like to ask Brad if he knows a magician that would like to donate their time for a short show. They may distribute business cards to hopefully get future gigs. There are usually about 100 people at the luncheon. The event should be held a Saturday in November but has not yet been scheduled. This volunteer work is Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic which is now called Learning Ally.Thanks.Debbie
Kenton Knepper honored by Ring 55 in Phoenix
On May 17, 2011 Ring 55 held our 64th annual banquet and installation of officers for the 2011-2012 year. The MC was Jay Gorham. The TVP, Eddie Siller installed the new officers who are Leigh Hotz president, Jack Daniels, vice president, Phil Tuttle, secretary, Jay Gorham treasurer and Kim Phelps Sargent at Arms.
Leigh Hotz presented the past presidents pin and a plaque thanking Phil Tuttle for two years of service as president. Larry Wilforg was awarded the volunteer of the year award for his contributions to our news letter The Lota.
After dinner it was time to honor Kenton Knepper . Letters were read from those of Kentons friends that could not be here. Kenton was presented with plaque honoring his contributions to magic and Ring 55.
Kentons friends performed next including the National President Society of American Mahicans Mark Weidhaas. The MC for this part was Jim Poague. There were great performances by Bryce Kuhlman, John Fitzmmons, J Tank,Barry Shor and to finish the evening A great performance by the world renown Kenton Knepper.
The high lite of this was when Kenton called on Michael Finney to assist him. Wow ! Two greats on stage together.
Everyone had a wonderful time and David Goldberg did not win anything.

Magical Friends,I just received this note from my friend Paul Stone, who is the producer of some of the greatest magic shows EVER. He is now producing a very special show in London coming this Fall. Please take a look, consider donating a ticket, and send this on to your email list....Thank you In Brotherhood, Brad ZinnHi Brad As you might know I am producing 'PALLADIUM MAGIC' at the London Palladium on September 19th. The Show is celebrating 100 years of magic at the Palladium. The original idea was to try to do something to also celebrate John Calvert's 100th Birthday which takes place in August. If you go to www.palladiummagic.com/sponsoralegend.html you'll see what I have tried to do for John & Tammy, and also Jack Kodell and his wife Mary Naylor, a major Music Hall Star in England in the 40's & 50's.
I am also hoping to donate up to 1000 tickets to various Cancer related Charities in the London area for their patients, families, carers and nurses. See www.palladiummagic.com/charitytickets.html
The message on the site is also more direct too and has a few really good video clips of a few of the main performers on it. This is the one to tell people about if they want to know more about the Show. I'll also forward you the main poster that we have been using for magicians. Please spread the word and maybe send out an email to your contact list in case anyone wants to sponsor some Charity tickets. If anyone knows, then you know how special the Palladium is! Love to Brenda
