The Lord’s Day WorshipThe Twentieth Day of November, Two Thousand and Sixteen
Eight-Thirty and Eleven O’clock
The Hymn of Praise “My Heart Is Filled with Thankfulness”
The Call to Worship Psalm 16:8-11
The Minister: “I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
The Congregation: Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices.
The Minister: For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let Your holy one see corruption.
The Minister andCongregation: You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
The Reverend Parker TenentAssistant Pastor
The Offertory “Creation Hymn” Courtney Brandon Rushing, Horn Elena Efthimiou, Director
His praise appears in all I see, The stars declare His hands to be;Creation speaks in sky and sea and shore,
Proclaiming forth their sov’reign Maker, “Lord.”High mountains rising to the sky, Bow down before their Author’s eye;
Sea depths now echoing the land’s refrain, Their vast expanse too small to hold His name;
He is Lord.
But though I see, my heart cries out, “So great a God, cares He for me?”Yes, He who rules the hosts above, Surrendered, yet, His life in Love,
Embraced me on a mountain full of pain, Released me from an ocean’s debt of shame;
He is Lord.
Yes, now I see, my heart cries out, “So great a God, He cares for me!”And, thus, a new creation made, I see Him more and more each day;
With all the wonders that His hands have laid, I rise to glory in the Son, and say, “He’s my Lord!”
The Invocation and The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
The Confession of Sin
Almighty God, we are unworthy to come into Your presence because of our many sins. If You dealt with us as we deserve, we would not receive any
grace or mercy from You. We have sinned against You, and we have offended You. And yet, O Lord, as we acknowledge our sins and offenses, so also do we acknowledge You to be a merciful God, a loving and favorable Father to all

The Assurance of Pardon“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities; upon Him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with His wounds we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:4-5
The Statement of Faith Heidelberg Catechism Q and A 1
The Minister: What is your only comfort in life and in death?
The Congregation: That I am not my own, but belong — body and soul, in life and in death — to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with His precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven: in fact, all things must work together for my salvation. Because I belong to Him, Christ, by His Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for Him.
The Benediction
