DESCRIPTION
The twentieth issue of the student newsletterTRANSCRIPT
In their fright the
women bowed down
with their faces to the
ground, but the men
said to them, “Why
do you look for the
living among the
dead? He is not here;
he has risen! Remem-
ber how he told you,
while he was still with
you in Galilee: ‘The
Son of Man must be
delivered over to the
hands of sinners, be
crucified and on the
third day be raised
again.’” - Luke 24:5-7

The Provost Search Committee has been working this semester to seek God's will in selecting a new Provost for Kuyper. We are excited to announce that we have moved past initial phone interviews and will be inviting several candidates for on campus interviews soon, where we will seek input from Kuyper students, faculty and staff into who God is calling to Kuyper College. We, the committee, ask that you keep us and the candidates in your prayers as this process continues.

I n t e r n s h i p s
Today I have been submerged completely in an ocean
full of thoughts on prayer. This has been mostly through
the book Prayer by Richard Foster. But then I looked at
the blog prompt and reading for this week and found
that it, too, was on prayer. It seems that God's been
doing that to me a lot lately, causing an overlap in the
things I'm reading and learning so as to further impress
upon me the weight of what he's teaching me. He's pretty
cool like that.
Both of these texts, Foster's book and the pithy reading
for this blog, covered basically the same material. The
reading for this week’s blog comes from
the Shewings written by Julian of Norwich. Both men-
tioned the importance of bending to God's will and
praying for his will to become personal will. They also
both talked about praying for contrition, or a full
knowledge of and sorrow for sin, as well as a full
knowledge of what Christ suffered for us so that we
might be made justified in the eyes of God. to live a
better life while life is available to us.

Our very last blood drive of the school year is coming up in just two weeks. This drive will be part of the Colleges Care Challenge of 2013. This unique Challenge involves ten area colleges that will host blood drives in March and April. The school that collects the highest number of pints (based on percentage of total student population) will win a traveling trophy plus bragging rights, and will provide a unique and precious community service. Every pint of blood donated at Kuyper’s blood drive will directly support the blood supply for patients in the hospitals that care for many in our communities.
The other schools joining in the 2013 Colleges Care Challenge are Aquinas College, Calvin College, Cornerstone University, Davenport University, Grace Bible College, Grand Rapids Community College, Grand Valley State University, Hope College and Kendall College of Art & Design. Our blood drive partner, Michigan Blood, is the source of blood for hospitals across the state, including major medical centers in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, St. Joseph, Saginaw, Midland, Traverse City, and Grand Blanc. On average, one out of every seven people entering the hospital will need blood – and volunteer donors are the only source of this lifesaving resource.
Let’s show the community and the rest of the participat-ing schools how much Kuyper College cares about the health and wellbeing of the community. You all love a good competition with Grace Bible, don’t you? Well here’s your chance! If you haven’t donated blood before, please consider participating in this worthy campus wide event. If you’re already a donor, please encourage your friends to join you in donating at our Colleges Care Challenge drive. Everyone who tries to give blood will receive a coupon for a FREE Papa John’s 1-topping large pizza, plus the extraordinary feeling that comes from saving a life and contributing to your community.
Don’t forget – this is also our last chance to beat President Kroeze in the Presidential Challenge! We have more than 30 units left to give in order to have donated over 120 units of blood this year!
The blood drive will take place on April 4 in the gym from noon to 4pm. Please sign up in the Student Life office as soon as you can.

MARCH 2013
As a big thank you for reading, we have a special prize
for you! But there’s a catch. You must be able to recite
these three things at the Student Life front desk from
memory.
What is the next step for the Provost search?
How many more units of blood do we need to beat
the President?
What does your family do on Easter?
If you can name these three things, you can either
receive a candy bar or enter in a raffle a $10 Russ’s gift
certificate at the end of the month! There will be two
raffle winners.
