A thank you and goodbye from Jim
As you know, Michael, Bruce and myself have transferred ownership of watchgeeks.net over to Invicta.
At the same time, I am leaving the forum. As we continue to build the watch shows at ShopNBC, I need
to focus more of my time and energy there. I am also working on spending more quality time with my
own family, and not be tethered to a computer all the time this has been in the works for a while
now, and I felt it needed to be done. I have been blessed with two great partners who agreed and
worked with me on this transition. Thanks also to Eyal and Invicta for picking up the baton and carrying
WG forward with grace.
I am always here for you however, and you can feel free to always contact me via email or on my two
Facebook pages.
I cannot begin to thank all of you enough for your amazing support, both of me personally at ShopNBC
and also for your support of watchgeeks. We have not only watched this forum grow, but more
importantly we have watched our membership grow closer as a family. Many of you have made lifelong
friendships, and the community here goes far beyond a typical watch forum on the Internet. I am
forever grateful for all you have done here to create this community, and I know that Invicta plans to
grow the forum in so many ways, without changing anything that you love about it.
You guys made it happen, and I know I speak for Bruce and Michael when I say THANK YOU for all that
you've done, and I am excited to see what the future holds for this community.
If anyone needs to contact me, or just wants to keep in touch, I'm not disappearing... you can reach me
via email at [email protected] or on my Facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jim-Sk...03476923063566
Thank you all so much, it has been my greatest pleasure getting to know all of you. Don't be strangers....

Enjoy the family time, nothing better. Thanks for all the time you shared with us Geeks. It won't be the
same without you. Your mention of this forum while on ShopNBC has lead to a new addiction. Best of
luck and see you on FB.

Wow, I'm floored! But it's all about family and you'll never get that time back, so congrats on the
decision. Thank you sincerely for this site, it has (and will be ) great. I don't know how you juggled your
professional responsibilities while building your family for this long!!! Now go enjoy your family!

Thanks everyone.
Yes, the only contact will be via email or my Facebook pages. I will maintain a membership here for a
while, but will not be actively posting.
To dispel any rumors: No, I am not leaving ShopNBC.

I am totally caught off guard obviously, you'll be missed around here. I'm even more surprized that
you're leaving totally.
I'll definitely see you on FB, and enjoy your reclaimed family time.

Thank you Jim... I joined WatchGeeks because of you and have been blessed with making a
lot of great friends here; which is so much more valuable to me than any watch collection
could ever be.. Of course I owe my watch collecting hobby (or habit) to you, and while my
watch collection thanks you my bank account is still wondering what happened
So glad to hear you're not leaving Shop and and I look forward to keeping in touch thru
facebook too.. When you come back down to South Florida please know you've got an open
invitation to a great day out on the boat; and dinner at Joe's Stone Crab restaurant on Miami
Beach!!!
Thanks again for everything and wishing you and your family all the best always!!

Thanks for bringing your knowledge, humor and silliness to the world of watches! Is there
any truth to the rumor that you'll be coming out with a DVD entitled: "how to shave your
monkey" available on 4 value pays of $12.99 @? Best wishes...

Jim, I'm sorry to hear that you're going, I will miss you as will all of the watch geeks. You're
knowledge of watches and photography will be a big loss to all of us here at WG's. I can
certainly understand you're desire to spend more time with your family though. Jim, thanks
for all of the wonderful friends you have made possible for me to meet by starting the best
watch forum site on the internet. I joined Watch Geeks at a very low period in my life. Being
able to log on every day and share my love of watches and connect with all of the fantastic
people on this site gave me the lift that I needed. This is truly a unique site, and I thank you
for the opportunity to be a part of it. Thanks for sharing you're vast knowledge of watches
with us and thanks for all of the wonderful pics that you have posted. And most of all thanks
for all of the shaved monkey's.
I wish you the very best in all of you're future endeavors my friend. May God bless you and
your family.

Glad to see that even in this economy there are some that can still be successful. Success is
not always determined by worth but the many lives a person can touch and contribute to in
a positive way. Glad to hear that your family will benefit from this most.
Keep on keeping on Jim. All the best. Cheers !!

Sorry to see you leave your baby Jim.
I know the three of you created watchgeeks, but many of us are here because of your
passion on the "tube".
You invited many of us here to your home and handed over the keys and allowed us to have
a voice.
I only hope the vision that you guys originally had for watchgeeks is seen all the way
through with the new ownership group...

Jim as many have already said it was at your suggestion on one of your shows that I found
my way to WG. This site, like you, have been both a blessing and a curse. You guys are a
bunch of enablers out there. But while I am still new to posting I have learned a lot being
here. And here is a good place with extrodinary people. However this family is no substitute
for your real family and taking time to reconnect with them is a good thing. I wish you
improved health and I hope great joy lies ahead for you with these decisions. Thank you and
best wishes.

Sorry to see you go Jim.
I look back fondly on the old days of fun and folderol on the forum. Back when we would all
be on here way too late, you changing our avatars to weird and disgusting pictures.
Ahhhh...good times.
Best of luck to you Jim in everything that you do. I'll still be seeing you on the tube.

That's not the reason.
I was leaving, and then we then decided as owners to let the forum go. The choices were to
close it, or do the smart thing...
We chose to do the smart thing

Thank you everyone so very much.
As to the questions about Sneak Peeks... who said I would stop taking pictures...?
I will maintain special Sneak Peek folders on my Facebook pages, and some images
(particularly Invicta) will of course come here via Michael.

I have no logical reason to feel this way, but this feels like a punch to the gut!! I'm happy
that Michael will be sticking with us here, but I'll miss you, Jim!
You have a way of making so many feel like they know you, or are friends with you, even
though we have never met you in person. That is a beautiful gift and one that very few
people have. It makes you special and I guess that's why this news actually makes me more
sad than it should.
You have introduced me to a world of great people and a hobby that has gotten me through
many hard times. Since I can't play video games and hate daytime TV, your love of watches
and your entertaining shows, brought me endless hours of happiness, when the back pain
was so intense that I couldn't leave my own house. That's another beautiful "gift" you've
given to me and one I can never repay you for.
You started it.
You got me to stop and watch the Invicta show on ShopNBC one late night.
You entertained me, educated me, and then helped build this forum where you welcomed a
gal, that knew nothing, but wanted to learn...
It doesn't take a detective to figure out that you've "pulled back" some here (I don't have
Facebook, and saw you were spending a lot of your "watch" related time there lately). I
know that you're involved in so many things that take up your time and all those things
make you the great guy you are today. So, your adjusting your time to other endeavors, is a
loss to us here, but an understandable one. YOU, will be greatly missed here and I hope
that you check in with us as often as you can...
Thank you, Jim. Thank you so much!!

I'll definitely miss seeing your input on the forum Jim.... Even though I'll still be able to
catch you on TV, this still feels like a huge loss because me in addition to a lot of other
people are here on WatchGeeks came to the forum because of YOU.
I kinda saw some signs earlier that your presence was diminishing quite a bit over the past
Week - Week and a Half, especially when the Ask Jim section piled up with Questions for
about a week until you were able to get back to them, in addition increased time on
Facebook and less time here for a while now.
With your son getting older, I don't blame you for wanting to have more family time...in this
day and age, it doesn't take long for kids to grow up. Plus, I can imagine that keeping up
with both Facebook and WatchGeeks was pretty time consuming.
I'm not a Facebook user ( I will check out your Fan Page from time to time), but I guess I'll
just be seeing you on the TV presentations from now on. Take Care Jim

Wow, say it ain't so!! WatchGeeks without Jim is kinda like.... Harley without Davidson.
Your passion, artistry & humor will be greatly missed. Watchgeeks has lost a little of its
luster without Diamond Jim.
Enjoy time with your family & all your new endeavours.... wishing you the best.
Moving forward, I'll catch you the same Bat-time, same Bat-channel. Thank you!

Sad Day
[quote=Magster;2311805]I have no logical reason to feel this way, but this feels like a

This truly a sad day for all here at the the forum. I want to thank you for introducing me to a
great group of geeks and the REAL people. I will miss your great knowledge as well as the
humor you brought to all of us here at the WG world. I have such a better understanding of
the watches I collect and a great group of friends thanks to you and all the gang here at the
forum. I will miss the great pics at the Sneak Pics threads as well. I started to wonder why
Mike started to post them in another thread, I guess I have my answer. Family always
comes first. At the end of the day that is who you want to see and they are the
ones that make a difference in this world!!!
Thanks Again

J.S. I like many others on this forum have been drawn in to this wonderful world of horology by stumbling onto SNBC after channel surfing and taking what I thought would be a quick stop at one of those dreaded shopping channels and seeing this character who had personality to burn that was selling watches! I equated it to watching a car wreck at the time (I didn't really want to watch but I had to) and I figured a quick stop and I would be out! Fast forward to today and thanks to your hoodoo voodoo, I now own 300+
timepieces and still going strong. I'm not blaming it completely on you but yep you are the initiator of my constantly depleted bank account! And the truth be told, I would not change a thing! Because not only has this "magic carpet ride" been highly entertaining but I've learned a lot as a result of this highly intricate "art of the wrist" thing we call a hobby! And I have met a lot of fine folks that share this joy ride with me too! So I have a lot to thank you for and I'm eternally grateful for you having a large part of my introduction to this special place we call Watchgeeks! The void of not having both your highly entertaining personality and vast horological perspective cannot ever be
replaced and thus this is a truly sad day for all of us in geekland! But on the bright side you have chosen some very competent folks too continue on this extraordinary family! I am also extremely happy for both your real family and true friends. And hopefully this will afford you some more time to both "smell the roses " and pursue some of your many other interests! So I will look forward to see what the future holds for both us in geekland and yourself! See ya on the SHOP and thanks for everything bud. Take care! __________________

Sorry to see you leave..Jim, Watchgeeks was you. No one can fill your shoes. I feel like
closing down my computer here in watchgeeks. I will check in every once in a while to look
around or so but very sad. We all understand you have to move on, so best to you and
thanks for all the watch talk. I still will be watching your shows on the shop though.

Jim...thanks for everything. As Magie, 50, and so many others have so eloquently have said
this is indeed a sad day for us. I feel safe in saying you are the biggest reason most of us
are here and started collecting watches in the first place. As you move on, it must fill you
will a great feeling of accomplishment to have been able to bring this many people together
into a family of sorts. God bless you and your family and future in whatever you do.

Man you will be missed here, after I told my wife she said "What!?? They better not cancel
the national watch geeks get together." She was one of the few ladies that came and she
had a really good time as did I. I don't post alot but loved meeting the people there along
with all of the TV personalities that showed up from SNBC as well as from the watch
companies. Good luck Jim hope to see you at the get together.

Thanks Jim for turning me into a Watch Geek - I've learned a lot about watches from you
and this forum that you helped to create. I really appreciate the time that you spent on
these boards answering our questions, giving us sneak peeks, and sharing your humor. Best
wishes to you and your family - and thanks again for the titanium Wildebeast (white onyx
dial) that I bought from your collection a couple years ago - it sees plenty of wrist time!

Diamond Jim...
Let me say that you'll be missed around this place so many of us
geeks call home. But we understand that other things in life most take priority...
family being the highest.
Michael, Bruce, and you Jim, took the time to create what has become likely the most unique, friendly, and generous forums on the
web today... somehow THANK YOU just doesn't seem to be enough.
Take care

Thank you for this post Jim, Now that I see this was your idea I feel better about the whole
transition thing. I am happy to see that you and WG are both moving in some new directions
and looking to keep things innovative and progressing forward both here and on Shop. I will
miss two of my favorite parts of this forum "Ask Jim" and "Sneak Peaks". At the same time I
am excited to see Mike and Tim stepping up in your absence. I really enjoy Mike's posts and
Tim's knowledge and believe they will keep the original intent and community of WG going
and lookinmg forward to the future.
Thank You Jim.

all miss you on WG's, I'm certain you will be serving a greater purpose. Best of luck and stay

Jim,
It's been really great getting to get to know you through this forum. I really appreciate all
you've done. I think your enthusiam for watches really sparked my own interest in
good/quality waches. You've been very accesable to all of us. I think you made a wise
decision though. This takes a lot of work.

Thank you Jim for all your hard work. If it was not for you and watching you on the
ShopNBC shows, I would not be collecting watches. I enjoy all the funny moments you have
with your guests and this is what has kept me interested in watches. You knowlege is
beyond compare and you will be missed on this forum.
Once again, if you and your family ever end up visiting San Francisco, Northern California, I
would be more than happy to give you a tour of the Napa Valley.
Thank you again, Jim,

Jim,
I personally want to thank you for the unselfish contribution you have made to mine and
other collector's knowledge and passion. You are a consumate professional who not only is
committed to his livelihood but exudes tremendous passion and truth in their
recommendations and opinion. You will be missed, however, I look forward to continue
following your lead on both facebook and ShopNBC. Best wishes my friend.

All good things --
Jim --
I know all good things must come to an end -- but I thought this would be the exception and
you'd be here forever!
I don't participate as much as I should -- but I love the Geeks -- and I love the daily chat --
I always check in every day!
I'm glad I got to call in and got on the air during the Sea Hunter show a couple weeks ago --
that was fun to have a chance to talk to you!!
Oh well -- as the saying goes -- we know where to find you -- and it'll be fun to keep in
touch!
Just know how much your spirited presence around here has meant to everyone.
Now it's time for you to extend your energies in other directions and enjoy all you have been
gifted with in life -- especially your family.
Take good care of yourself -- and if we can ever be of assistance to our distinguished
colleague -- please don't hesitate to contact us!
Peace,
Ron

A Class Act For Sure...
Jim,
You're a true class act and your "forum family" will indeed miss you a great deal. I
personally applaud you for wanting to concentrate more on the family. Time is such a
fleeting thing and nothing is more precious than sharing time with the ones your love. Good
luck and God bless you in all your future endeavors. Will look for 'ya as always on the
Shop....and FB of course .

Jim ~ My personal squirter! I will seriously miss your presence here and ownership.
When my cable included the shop in my package deal I had the shop for the first time.
I turned it on and there you were with Eyal selling the Diamond Baby Lupah on a bracelet
with leather strap set. You talked about your watch forum with details giving the date to it's
fruition. I waited anxiously as I watched every show that had you in it. I feel lucky and more
enthused about watch collecting from your enthusiasm, education, candor and beaming
hilarious personality. You peaked my interest and sparked my
collecting interest
I wish you luck and understand where you're coming from but will miss you.
Peace and I must say; glad I can still see you on Facebook and Shop NBC.
Keep on keeping on. Never lose it!

I cannot begin to thank all of you enough for your amazing support, both of me personally
at ShopNBC and also for your support of watchgeeks. We have not only watched this forum

Many of you have made lifelong friendships, and the community here goes far beyond a

You guys made it happen, and I know I speak for Bruce and Michael when I say THANK
YOU for all that you've done, and I am excited to see what the future holds for this

Thanks for replying to my comment Jim. Yes, your absence from this forum had been
frequently commented on in the past months. It would be easy to think that maybe you
became burned out on the whole forum thing ... but, you are very active on FB, and so it
appears it's just "this" forum that no longer appeals to you to participate in. Some food for
thought right there.
So, wow, the forum was right on the verge of being closed down by you guys ... and it has
only survived as a result of being picked up by Invicta. While there are lots of
congratulations being passed around, I think it is a little too early to predict exactly how
that's actually going to play out. There were many occasions in the past where Eyal was
pretty unhappy about things that were going on in this forum .... I can't help but wonder
what will happen in the future when those happen now that he owns the place?
Anyway, it will be very interesting to see what happens from here. My thanks to you for
getting me into watches .... and I'll be seeing you on the tv machine.

God Bless you Jim Skelton. As much as I've enjoyed you starting this forum; family, as I
now realize, is everything. Any stress off our shoulders helps us enjoy more. I've enjoyed
you on the Shop, helping me embrace my " inner watchgeek " when everyone else just
made fun. See you down the road (tonight I'm sure). "You're a good man Charlie Brown".

I guess this is how a college ball player feels when the coach that recruited him leaves the
college! I feel confused, betrayed and a little hurt. An important individual in the beginning
of my, and many peoples, watch collecting addiction... you will be missed.
However, I will say that both Michael and Tim are never too busy to respond and always fair
in the comments or feedback. So their involvement is certainly welcomed and a engaging
possibility to more friends, more networking and more knowledge.
I hope you occasionally find time, and effort, to drop by and say hi. I wish you good luck in
all your endevours and I'll drop by occasionally on FB.
Thank you for all your hard work on this forum, I am sure it has become more than any of
the owners predicted it might. The friends, the commerce, the community. Please think of it
as a great accomplishment!
Best wishes!
~Paul
