The Living Wilderness Fund ensures that the voice that gave us the Wilderness Areas we cherish will surround the next generation.

Planned giving sustains the wild world that we have been given and which we have worked to conserve. It gives the next generation a chance to enjoy pure water and clean air in the midst of a natural world that has not been compromised.

The Living Wilderness Fund is an endowment created to honor our founders and celebrate the lives of dedicated supporters of wilderness. A gift to this endowment differs from other charitable contributions in that the fund is invested. The principal will remain untouched and only the interest will be use to support a full-time voice for wilderness protection and advocacy. Any additional annual interest will be put directly toward wilderness conservation projects.

Your gift will last into perpetuity as part of that investment.

contribution to LWF is the simplest way to support Tongass wilderness. Keep in mind that if your employer has a matching gift program, you could double

or triple your gift. BequestsLeaving a bequest in your will ensures that you will leave a

lasting legacy of wilderness in your memory. The options for

leaving a bequest can be specifically tailored to suit you

intentions, by giving a fixed amount, a percentage of your

total estate, or a portion of your remaining estate after other

bequests have been satisfied.

You may posses a life insurance policy that contains benefits that

now exceed the needs of your family. You can contribute your life insurance policy by naming

the LWF as the owner and beneficiary, beneficiary only, or

partial beneficiary of your policy.

Gifts of Real EstateYour contribution of real estate is

a gift that has income and capital gains tax advantages. You can give your personal

residence to the LWF and still maintain lifetime use of the

property by creating a “Retained Life Estate.”

SCS office, honors our founders and celebrates the lives of those who care for and have fought passionately to protect our wild places. If you would like to celebrate the life of someone you care for by making a con-tribution in their honor, please contact the SCS office. Their name will be added to the memorial plaque and their story will be included in the Living Wilderness Memorial Book.
