“Strengthening Churches to BE the Church: Equip, Encourage, Empower”
Sunday, April 28, 2019
Hunt Springs Baptist Church (1557 St Andrews Ch. Rd., Sanford NC 27332)
SCBA “Spring Gathering” 2:45 pm until 5:00 pm
Everyone is welcome to attend!
Youth and youth leaders will have the opportunity to be part of “Blessing the Community”! After instructions and a “sending prayer”, youth will depart from Hunt Springs for an hour spent in surrounding neighbor-hoods, and among neighbors, sharing about Hunt Springs
with a flyer, a light bulb (Jesus is the light of the world), and a Bible. Some teams, Lord willing, will have the opportunity
to share their faith and possibly the plan of salvation!
Our prayer is youth (and adults) will have the opportunity to be part of “Blessing the Community” for the neighbors of the church where our “Spring Gatherings” will be held for
years to come!
Youth leaders, please let us know how many from your church will be attending by April 15th.
(sign-up by calling the SCBA office at 919.776.9423 or e-mailing [email protected])
We don’t want to just talk about missions, we want to DO missions, and that’s what “Blessing the Community”
is all about!!!
Step back in time to the
precious moment
when Jesus shared with His disci-ples what has come
to be known as
“The Last Supper.” Watch the disciples shocked response when Jesus announced that one of them would betray Him and feel the emotions that Jesus must have felt as He knew
what was about to take place.
DATE: Sunday, April 14 – 6:00 pm
Brookdale Baptist Church (1133 W. 3rd Street - Siler City)
Come join us as we watch this drama come to life!
“One of you will betray me”
Following the adult session of our “Spring Gathering” and upon the return of our youth, everyone will gather in the Fellowship Hall for an Intergenerational “diaper pack” to assist the three churches in our Association who are sharing “Bundles of Hope” (diapers) in their
communities. These churches are in Pittsboro, Bear Creek, and Sanford.

“Your Missionary’s Musings” for April - “We can do more together”!!! Eric
WHY are we collecting SIZE 4 diapers at our “Spring Gathering” on Sunday, April 28th at
Hunt Springs Baptist Church?
We have three churches, Hunt Springs, New Salem, and Sandy Branch, that are distribution centers for “Bundles of Hope”. The diapers we are collecting will be distributed to these three min-istry contact points.
A ministry contact point is anywhere Christians have the oppor-tunity to share Jesus. When an individual experiences a “diaper need”, they can come to a church building where they interact with Christians and the individual will see, feel, and hear the love of Jesus through this compassion ministry. They receive a Gospel tract in their “Bundle of Hope’, and even a Bible if they will receive one.
A diaper need “is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep an infant or child clean, dry, and healthy.”
“NEED IS MORE THAN A FOOTNOTE. Here are the facts: ∗ 1 in 3 American families reports experiencing diaper
need. ∗ 5.2 million children in the U.S. aged three or younger live
in poor or low-income families. ∗ Infants require up to 12 diapers per day, toddlers about 8. ∗ Disposable diapers can cost $70 to $80 per month per ba-
by. ∗ No state or federal child safety-net program allocates dol-
lars specifically for the purchase of diapers. ∗ Without transportation, buying diapers at a convenience
store rather than a large “big box” store can significantly increase the monthly cost of diapers.
∗ Most childcare centers, even free and subsidized facilities require parents to provide a day’s supply of disposable diapers.”
“Over 60% of families with a “diaper need” are working fami-lies with parents working at least one job if not more. Many military families will experience “diaper need” while a parent is deployed. Babies not only need diapers, they need wipes as well.”
Remember, SNAP and WIC are NOT available to purchase dia-pers. Cash funds that a family might receive are “insufficient to buy diapers and pay all the other expenses (utility bills, rent, other hygiene essentials, clothing, etc.).”
One person wrote: “We cannot describe ourselves as pro-life if we fail to provide parents who chose to keep their child the tools necessary to raise that child.”
So, WHY are we collecting diapers?
I believe it is what Jesus would have us do!!!
Please bring one pack (or more) of SIZE 4 DIAPERS to our “Spring Gathering” at Hunt Springs Baptist Church on April 28th!!!
At the conclusion of the adult service, and the youth return from “Blessing the Community”, everyone is invited to the Fellowship Hall to participate in an inter-generational “Diaper Pack”!!!
Representatives from our “Bundles of Hope” distribution churches will be there to give instructions on HOW to “pack” the diapers for distribution.
ATTENTION YOUTH LEADERS!!!
Please bring the youth from your church to our “Spring Gather-ing” on April 28th to participate with youth from across the SCBA in “Blessing the Community”!!!
You and your youth will be going to surrounding neighbor-hoods, identified by Hunt Springs Baptist Church, with a flyer inviting people to the church, a light bulb (“Jesus is the light of the world”), a Gospel tract, and a Bible. If the opportunity presents itself, youth will have the opportuni-ty to directly share the Gospel. I encourage our youth leaders to have their youth download the app, “The Story”. I, also, encourage our youth leaders to “train” their youth by going through the presentation of the Gospel from their “The Story” app. It really is easy to show the ways youth and adults can share the Gospel story!!!
I need to have youth leaders let us know the “best estimate” of youth from their church that will be participating by April 15th. We want to be sure to have enough neighborhoods for youth to visit. Y ou can call the SCBA office at 919.776.9423, or by e-mailing [email protected] with this number.
Youth leaders will need to provide transportation for their youth (and maybe other youth) for travel to the surrounding neighborhoods!!! If you can bring your church van, that would be awesome!!!
Also, our youth will have the opportunity to participate in the inter-generational “Diaper Pack” when they return to Hunt Springs!!!
We don’t want to just talk about missions, we want to DO mis-sions, and that’s what “Blessing the Community” and the “Diaper Pack” are all about!!! =============================================

WOW! How awesome the Love of Jesus is!
Think about the unconditional LOVE Jesus had on the Cross. He was totally innocent.
His killers were totally guilty. Yet… He interceded for His accusers.
He asked God to forgive them. But intercession is about more than forgiveness. It is about asking God to
do what we can’t. There are many ways to express love to others. One of the most sacrificial
way is to pray intersession for God to bless, protect, and provide
for those we love.

SCBA WMUSCBA WMUSCBA WMUSCBA WMU: Our 2019 theme is UNSHAKABLE PURSUIT, the
objective: …to know God more, show His love unconditionally, and make disciples who make disciples. Daunting, unless we remember “…that God has committed to us the word of reconciliation…” (2 Cor. 5: 18-20) and instructed us to “Go…and make disciples…teaching them…all that I have commanded you; …I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matt. 28: 18-20). These days before Easter seem appropriate for reminding of our purpose in life: spread the gos-pel as we go bringing eternal hope to those around us. Missions Extravaganza 2019 (26th-27th) meets in Raleigh, Fannie Exile Heck’s hometown, at Trinity Baptist Church, and will offer an opportunity to tour her home. Fannie’s new story is scheduled to be released this month in concert with this two day missions conference designed to encourage, challenge, and equip men, women and teens for the work God has planned for them. This year as you celebrate Easter, praising God and rejoicing in our resurrected Savior, remember to pray for the millions who do not have this eternal hope because they have not heard or have heard but not believed. Many will celebrate without knowledge of the true reason for this holy day. Thus, our “unshakable pursuit” to reach the lost with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, while seeking to know God and remembering the promise God gave to Joshua is ours too: “…as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. …Be strong and of good cour-age; do not be afraid…the LORD your God is with you wherever you go” (Josh. 1: 5, 9).
EASTER BLESSINGS TO ALL! SCBA WMU: Susan Ferguson, (919) 548-0115

REACHOUT CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER “Empowering women and men to make informed, life
affirming choices.”
The NY governor signed a bill into law in an effort he believes will protect the “reproductive rights” of New Yorkers. They cele-brated the victory by lighting the World Trade Center Pink. What they are saying is that they have the legal right to murder and are proud of it. This was such a blatant display of arrogance, and dis-respect for God and all those who choose “Life”. It’s called SIN and built around FEAR. They fear the loss of control, power, and entitlement. At RO we see these same fears and attitudes when talking with abortion minded women. They see this pregnancy as a “death to self”. It shatters their sense of who they are, and there-by paralyzes their ability to think more rationally or realistically. Exodus chapter 1 describes another time in history where babies were murdered because of fear. Pharaoh feared the sons of Israel because he saw them becoming more powerful and multiplying. He feared his loss of control and power. His solution was to have two midwives murder innocent baby boys as mothers gave birth. But God’s Word tells us that the midwives FEARED GOD! So they didn’t do as he commanded. They let the baby’s live. They had a profound reverence for God and a dread of His punishment. Abortion is not just a secular problem, it happens in our churches as well. Two out of five women who had abortions attended church at least once a month at the time of their first abortion. Pharaoh didn’t fear God and obviously by their actions, some New Yorkers don’t fear God. How about us as followers of Christ? Do we fear God? May we all repent of our own apathy on the issue of abortion. “..if My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
