The Legal Department - What we do (1)

• Advising members in individual legal matters approximately 250 inquiries since September 2014 via phone and e-mail • Preparing statements for law proposals Approximately 20 statements sent out since September 2014. If meaningfull in cooperation with other ngos.

– EU-legislation – EU public consultations – National legislation on federal level and federal state levels

What we do: Preparing statement on law proposals

• Law department writes a summary of the proposal. • The summary is given to the different waste stream specialists at bvse. • The Law Department offers even a meeting to present the summary. • The different waste stream specialists communicate the summary and

the proposal with their waste stream boards. • Input is given back to the Law Department which writes/ coordinates

the statement. Final consultation with all specialists. • All statements is coordinated with the Head of bvse, Mr. Eric Rehbock. • Statement is sent out. • If meaningsfull cooperation with other ngo´s

• Newsletter for our members

Contents:

– Different legal matters such as information about the rules of waste shipment/ different verification procedures

– Judgements within environmental law (eg facility permits, matters regarding waste shipment worldwide) or decisions concerning SME matters (especially labour law)

Sent out by e-mail, approximately 30 since september 2014

• Contacts with different Ministries, especially the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

• Contacts with other ngos and stakeholder.

• Internal judicial matters from the different waste stream specialists at bvse and overall ngo matters

• Responsibililty for the Board for Circular (Waste) Economy at bvse

• Not waste stream orientated • But: overall view on the recycling business • Ten participants (all bvse members) • Participants need to work for a company representing several waste

streams. • Overall matters are discussed • Confidential, application for admission is necessary • At least four meetings/ year
