On Saturday, December 5th  Stonehill hosted its very frst interschool Speech-

Drama-Debate competition. The Last Word - an Interschool Speech and Drama

Competition was held at the Stonehill campus. Close to 4 participants !rom

three schools participated in the event that had a ran"e o! activities such as #

$ad %d&s, Ori"inal Oratory, Oral Interpretation and Debate. 'he participants were

!rom Indus International School, Canadian International School and Stonehill

International School. 'he action pac(ed event started at ) am and went on till

4*pm and culminated with some thrillin" news !or our students.

 'he topic !or the +ublic orum Debate was* Religious satire should be

considered hate speech. ach school had up to teams o! two participants in

each team. 'he emphasis in a +ublic orum Debate is placed on actual /clash0

between the two sides throu"h Cross-ire 1uestion and answer sessions. 'he

topic !or the Street +lay was in line with the theme !or debate. 'he students had

to create a play on Promoting Peaceful Coexistence and Religious Harmony . On a

li"hter note, the $ad %ds which were char"ed with creativity were based on the

product "iven at the spot which was # 2an"er. 3oth teams, !rom IndusInternational School and Stonehill International School created hilarious

advertisements that were hi"hly creative. Ori"inal Oratory had an interestin" mi

o! topics, ran"in" !rom ISIS to 2onesty in %ppreciation and Oral Interpretation

saw some dramatic readin"s o! some popular poems and story.

Interpretation.
