Message from the Barn:

Summer is here again and it’s chock full of fun things to do. Join us for Fun For All in the parks, take a class at the Barn, or enjoy an outdoor movie on a warm sum-mer night. (In particular, I invite you to pay tribute to David Bowie with us on Au-gust 12 where we will have music and a fashion show precede “The Man Who Fell to Earth,” starring, well, none other than David Bowie). As always stop by the Barn to say hello—we love hearing about you and your perspectives.

We are excited about all of the organizations we will be partnering with for our summer offerings. Of course Food For Lane County will be at most of our Fun For All sites. United Way’s Summer Reading Spot will be back reading to whomever comes here to the Barn. Also, a new partner, The Imagination Art Bus will be with us on Mondays at Petersen Barn and Thursdays at State Street Park. As always, we appreciate the work Parks and Open Spaces does to keep our parks safe and clean and of course all the individual volunteers and participants who make our commu-nity the great place that it is.

I do want to take a moment to remind folks that we are in the process of develop-ing a Parks and Recreation system plan that will guide our development over the next 10-15 years. Please take a moment to get in touch and let us know your thoughts.
