Let’s take a moment to think about

it.Yes, our lives are busy and full of stress but, we still

need to stop, show God our gratitude no matter what is

going on in our lives – the good, and the bad… so on

that note it is important that our children learn about

gratitude, thankfulness and one sure way is; we lead

them. Here are some people in the bible that we know

who were thankfull . 1) Jesus and the 10 lepers, only

one lepper turned back and thanked Jesus” He threw

himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a

Samaritan.”(Lk 17:16) 2) Jesus with the loaves and fish

“Then he took the seven loaves and the fish, and when

he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to

the disciples, and they in turn to the people. They all

ate and were satisfied”.(Mt 15:36–37) 3) Paul is about

to be shipwreck with a bunch of people, but tells them

they should eat so they will have strength to swim

ashore “Paul took some bread and gave thanks to God

in front of them all.”(Ac 27:35)

Connecting With Our Children

–The Family Meal Together!

Everyone today is so busy with

schedules and work ,and I know

that everyone’s family is

different – but when was the last time you all

sat down to a meal together?

I remember growing up we ate together every

night, my three brothers, me and mom & dad.

Good times and funny times… well, maybe a bit

crazy… (My one brother got my other brother to

kiss the toaster- but we won’t go there! Still

laugh about that today) however; when we got

older it was more difficult but, there was always

Sunday dinner.

It helps to connect with each other, find out

what is going on in each other’s lives. Also it

gives us a chance to give extra attention to

teens and children.

This may sound old

school but, it helps

with learning table

manners.

Also, if every helps to prepare and clean up –

there will be more bonding time and kids get a

sense of ownership.

Helps build vocabulary – think about it, you’re

holding conversations, especially for young kids.

A way of building self-esteem for your kids, it

shows children that you are interested in their

day and what they have to say is important.

“And day by day, attending the temple together

and breaking bread in their homes, they

received their food with glad and generous

hearts,

received their food with glad and generous

hearts” (Act 2:46)

Finally, it helps to make memories and

traditions and everyone benefits!

Got Fruit Flies!

Get a container, fill it with

some vinegar then place

plastic wrap over the top

and poke a few small holes

and leave overnight.

Not only will they be trapped, but also… dead, so no worries of them crawling out! Here are a few facts...ewww ●They can lay up to 500 eggs at a time ●Their entire lifecycle is complete in about a week ●While considered mainly a pest, they have the potential to contaminate food with not so good bacteria.

Have you ever wanted to show someone a neat program you have and then realized that it isn't installed on their computer? Well, now you can! All you have to do is to get the portable app version of the program.

You would load the program onto a USB key and run it from there; you would then take the USB key and put it into another PC. Then just open the folder, select the program and start using it.

A good web site to go to find these kinds of programs is portableapps.com.

Most of the programs there are open source, which means you are free to use them on a personal or company computer. There are others that are for personal use only, so you could use the programs on your home computer. The details about the program will tell you which of these types it is.

On the website if you click on the Apps tab, the programs will be listed by category. There are Education, Games and Music & Video just to name a few.

Tech Corner – Bill Shane

My sister and I are going to Awana classes on Fridays. What is Awana? Well, we learn about the Bible. We play games and sing songs. We also get a uniform t-shirt, action bible, workbooks, and a cool bag. We get rewarded for being prepared. When we have all our stuff we get an Awana buck that we can use to buy stuff, like ice cream! Yum! It's fun. We mostly learn about Jesus's philosophy about WWJD (what would Jesus do?) I'm still not sure what Jesus would do for every situation but I'm learning.

When I find out, I will let you know😉 - Daniel Oudabachian
