She was raised in Keystone Heights and graduated from KHHS in 1991 so she has come full circle. Ms. Burke is married to David and they have three kids 21, 19, & 16. She talked about the upcoming school year related to COVID and ensuring that the students and staff are protected and will be required to wear masks and enhanced cleaning measures will be in place. The day will promptly end with the final bell giving the custodial staff ample time to have school fully cleaned before the next day. Therefore clubs will not be able to meet until further notice. The athletics and band have commenced with outdoor activities keeping with CDC guidelines and social distancing. The students in Clay County were given three options this year 1) Clay Virtual (on-line at students’ pace), One Clay Online (OCO) online classroom instruction with bell schedule and teacher, and of course brick and mortar. DCM for August 4th cancelled and looking at virtual options for mid-August. Several members have come down with COVID so making sure we are keeping our club members safe and healthy.

Florida Kiwanis Convention “Caring Corner” – Club voted to donate $250 and reminder to the group about the Virtual conference which is free this year which includes a virtual silent auction on August 15th from 5-8PM. As a part of the conference each club was encouraged to coordinate a community project. We will be building the 1st of 3 Gaga Pits at KHE Sunday, August 16th at 2pm. Mr. Weller will be joining us and Kim will be covering for the newspaper. All hands on deck. New morning meeting location. We had several options: Women’s Club, Methodist Church, Park of Palms, and Keystone Heights Golf and Country Club. Brad has offered to let us meet at the Country Club for free so we voted and decided we would start meeting there in lieu of Johnny’s starting in September. We will discussing coffee and breakfast and how to handle the logistics of the move. A big shout out to Brad. End of the Year Banquet – confirmed Thursday September 17th at Montgomery Center. The

center will be handling the food as we did last year and we are excited to see the changes that have been made to the Center. Thanks to Monica (one of our new members) for making this happen. Christmas Parade – still working on location but dater December 12th at 6pm. Theme: Santa’s Super Hero Christmas Keeping in line with the Super Hero’s during the Pandemic. Thanks to Tina for being the brains behind the idea. Tina Bullock named Kiwanian of the Month for all that she does for the club. She coordinated to pick and deliver 30 bags of school supplies and her and Marilyn delivered to the schools in our district. Tina goes above and beyond for the kids and the community. However, we had delay the presentation of her award as Fred forgot to bring the sign back. A fine will go out to Fred this coming week.
