The Kidney CentreEstablishment:

Its story starts in 1985 when a small dialysis unit with just two machines was set up. It owed its creation to a handful of dedicated, determined and diligent individuals who later established themselves as The Friends of the Kidney Centre. Thereafter, generous multinational corporations, local business houses and private individuals, all rallied to its cause. Tens of thousands walked to raise funds, others entertained or were entertained through innovative fund raising events, while still others sponsored such occasions for the same purpose — all of them had one thing in common — they opened up their hearts and reveled in the sheer joy of giving! As a result of which today, The Kidney Centre is an up-to-date medical facility providing comprehensive and quality renal care to thousands of patients, the majority of whom are poor and

Founded on 1985

The Kidney Centre is one of the largest up-to-date medical facilities providing comprehensive and quality renal care to thousands of patients – either entirely free or largely subsidized for non-affording patients or self paying.

The Center also serves as an excellent teaching, research and educational institution for nephrology, urology and related fields – its mandate being to train not only doctors but also paramedical staff and technicians.
