“Enter to Learn, Go Forth to Serve.” Thank you Lord for the vision you gave for Jameson Schools, Thank you for the gift of Dr. Howard O. Jameson who said yes to the implemen-tation of the vision.

The power of vision is so demanding it cannot be denied or contained. In the 56 years of vision, many have opened up Biblical teaching institutes fueled by the vision and inspiration Dr. Jameson infused within their spirit. Many have become teachers nationally and internationally. Many are guided by his words of wisdom. He taught the

anniversary of the home-going of Dr. Howard Owen Jameson. Doc, as he was affectionately called began the vision for Jameson Schools 56 years ago. Since that time, thousands of students have walked through the doors of Jameson Schools. Five generations and counting and the vision is still alive and striving as the baton passed to his son, Dr. Byron L. Jameson.

Truth of God’s Word and never compromised to be accepted by the status quo. As I look back over my years of learning at Jameson Schools, I have many anecdotes in my memory bank to remember Doc’s legacy. One that comes to mind that solidifies the vision and mission of the school is the story he told about a young

man who came to him after one of his teaching sessions on the Old Testament. The young man earnestly wanted more information about the lesson. Doc’s reply was: “It’s in the Bible, go ask your pastor, he will confirm it.” The young man replied, “I am the pastor.” Whatever your status, when coming to Jameson Schools the motto is unchanged:

(Cont’d from pg. 1 Col. 4)

It wasn’t until a few months ago, in my second year in the school of ministry, that I learned this was a possibility for me. I remember sitting in class and Dean Batista asking who was going to be ordained this year. I was hesitant and tearful because I didn’t think myself worthy enough for such an honor. I submitted my application, but in the weeks leading up to the ordination, I continued to ask God

one question: “Are You sure?” On the day of the ordination, I remember lining up with all the

graduates and the candidates for ordination and admiring the differences in all of us. No two people were the same, yet the Lord chose each and every one of us. It was then that I realized this truth: there was nothing I said or did, or accomplished in my life that qualified me for this. God is no respecter of a person. He can call and choose whosoever He pleases. We simply answered and obeyed. It is only His GRACE that allows us to do anything He has called us to do. ALL glory and honor belongs to God for what HE has done!

The service itself was beautiful and more perfect than I could ever have imagined. When the processional started and I heard the choir singing “Every Praise” I thought, “Wow, this is the perfect song to march into.” The laying on of hands was the most humbling part of the whole experience. And the words from Pastor Byron's commencement address have been marinating in my spirit since that day: "Turkey time is over. It's time to soar like eagles."
