The 84th ITA Convention was held at the Gold Coast Hotel in Las Vegas and was filled
with fun and excitement. We are grateful for everyone’s participation and missed those
who could not attend. Our pre-convention activity on Thursday was the Champagne City
Bus Tour. We learned many facts about Las Vegas and saw attractions on the strip like
the erupting volcano at the Mirage Hotel. The trip also included going to downtown
Freemont St to view “The Freemont Street experience.” Friday morning our golfers
held their Double Trouble golf outing and over 50 bowling enthusiasts participated in a
tournament. High Scorer prizes went to Leland Oswalt, Cary
Clark, and Brenda Pritchett. The Opening Ceremony “Gold Rush”
Dinner & Dance was Friday evening with music provided by DJ Bonny
Rivera. Connie Morey & Carol Bond led us in a “Get-to-Know You” mixer game.
Brenda Pritchett won the 50-50 drawing and Lou Murphy won the early registration
drawing prize for a future 2-night stay at the hotel and $100 meal ticket. Saturday
afternoon the “Pit Boss” from the hotel gave us private gaming lessons. A private cruise
and superb dinner on Lake Meade was our Saturday evening event. We witnessed a
beautiful sunset and had an up-close view of the Hoover Dam. On Sunday we started with a
motivational Gospel and Surviving Twin service led by Sandy Meyer. The General Meeting followed
where our new officers for 2019 Savannah, GA were elected and they are, Co-Presidents Dianne & Doreen
McConaghy and Co-Vice Presidents Debbie Hyson & Donna Zawacki. Connecticut was approved for our 2020
convention site presented by Cheryl & Meryl Hollar. Jerry Hymer was elected as our official photographer. The golfers
had another great outing. Sunday evening’s “Rat Pack is Back” Dinner Dance, featured DJ Bonny Rivera who
surprised everyone by introducing his twin brother, Benny, who led us in some group dances. Our Presidential Kings
and Queens, Joe & Jeff Fithian and Cindy Hockensmith and Lindy Smith were crowned. We played games and held
our silent auction. The highlight of the evening was the crashing of our Congo line into the party next door. We were
delighted and surprised when they reciprocated with their own Congo line and we all ended up on their dance floor.

& Brenda Pritchett for their help, and our husbands Ernie and Jerry for all of their help and support. We look forward
to seeing you all in Savannah, GA for our 85th convention.

Hilda & Anna and Wardene & Geraldine were a great addition to the group. We are all looking forward to Savannah next year.
