The issues of environment in future IC relates toThe issues of environment in future IC relates to::
Overall objective: To improve the effectiveness of regional development policies in the areas of innovation, knowledge economy, environment and risk prevention by means of interregional cooperation.
Among the specific objectives:1.- To improve regional policies in the field of innovation and theknowledge economy
2.- To improve regional policies in environment and risk prevention focussing on: prevention and management of natural and
technological risks, water and coastal management, waste management,
biodiversity and preservation of natural heritage, energy efficiency and renewable
energies, clean and sustainable public transport and cultural heritage.
Future Inter-regional Cooperation and Environment
Among the specific objectives:3.-To enable actors at the regional and local level from different countries across the EU (and beyond) to exchange their experiences and knowledge
4. -To ensure results of interregional cooperation projects in the thematic priority fields will be made available to regional and local actors interested, (stakeholders of Convergence and Competitiveness) with the aim to improve the wider use of these results in regional policies across the EU.
5.-To match less experienced regions with more experience regions. The aim to jointly improve the regional capacities and knowledge level of the less experienced regions and support the implementation of theirConvergence and Competitiveness programmes.
