TRANSCRIPT
COMPLETE INFRASTRUCTURE DATA SET The new Pave-Scanner collects high speed (up to 80 km/h) 2
Mpps laser-scanner point clouds; the Ladybug5 spherical
image is combined with 3D high resolution imagery delivered
by the LCMS pavement sensors on 4m lane passes.
The software automatically detects and analyzes cracks, lane
markings, potholes, raveling, and macro-texture. Rutting is
measured and characterized using more than 4000 points, rut
depth and type (short, multiple, long radius) are evaluated.
Detection of joints, tinning and faulting between the concrete
slabs is also provided.
The integrated IMU sensors measure longitudinal profiles,
IRI, slopes and crossfalls.
EQUIPMENT • Applanix Inertial Navigation
System, with 1/2 GPS
receivers and antennas
• Z+F 9012 or Riegl VUX
laser-scanners
• Ladybug 30 Mpx Spherical
camera
• Pavemetrics LCMS
sensors including IMUs for
IRI, slope and crossfall
computing
• High resolution DMI
(Distance Measurement
System)
PERFORMANCES Pave-Scanner can survey up
to 400 km per day at a speed
of 80 km/h.
All the data are perfectly geo-
referenced thanks to the high
quality Inertial System.
Depending on GPS conditions
the survey can be calibrated
by means of Ground Control
Points, to reach an absolute
accuracy of 1 cm under any
conditions.

THE INTEGRATED SYSTEM FOR LASER MAPPING AND PAVEMENT INSPECTION The SITECO Road-Scanner platform fully integrated with the Pavemetrics LCMS vision system technology represents the most cost
effective, state-of-the-art high performance infrastructure and pavement surface inspection system. The system collects Asset and
Pavement databases in a single survey campaign, providing big advantages for their contextual management.
The complete 3D lidar and imagery infrastructure survey, with millimeter resolution pavement inspection provides a thorough analysis
of the maintenance conditions. All data are accurately geo-referenced and managed in a single environment with Siteco’s powerful
software.

AUTOMATIC WORKFLOW FOR CONSISTENT PAVEMENT, LIDAR AND IMAGERY DATA
The Road-Scanner system is seamlessly integrated throughout the entire hardware implementation and software workflow,
resulting in a totally turnkey commercial system. The latest lidar sensors and imaging cameras are fully supported for 3D
infrastructure visualization and measurement. Combined, the rich and geo-referenced data and image information make an easy
job of identifying and cataloging features in a flexible scalable database.
PAVEMENT AND ASSET MANAGEMENT The new Pave-Scanner system has been developed together
with SITECO’s dedicated PMS-SIT software suite for complete
project planning, execution and data delivery, which can be
applied for both road and airport pavements.
The post-processing software provides a fully automated
production of all the georeferenced data sets: spherical imagery,
point clouds, high resolution pavement 3d bit-maps, transverse
profiles and rutting, longitudinal roughness IRI and Macrotexture
data, cracking and other pavement defects geometry, PCI
Pavement Condition Index according to ASTM D5340-12 and
D6433/2003 standards for roads and airports.
The GIS based environment user interface provides contextual
consultation of all the data sets and full control of the
infrastructure maintenance status.
PMS-SIT is completely integrated in the software Road-SIT suite
for the Road Information System which includes modules for the
visualization of the georeferenced imagery and point clouds.
With this approach the pavement is managed as an
infrastructure component (like bridges, tunnels, guardrails,
sidewalks, right of ways, etc.).
