Notes for Contributors1. Global Environmental Politics invites submissions on contemporary international and

comparative environmental politics. The journal gives particular attention to theimplications of local-global interactions for environmental management, as well asthe implications of environmental change for world politics. It covers issues such asthe role of states, multilateral institutions and agreements, globalization, trade, consumption patterns, international ªnance, corporations, poverty and inequality, nongovernmental organizations, science and technology, and grassroots move-ments. It also covers particular environmental problems that span two or morecountries, such as climate change, ozone depletion, deforestation, biodiversity, de-sertiªcation, transboundary pollution, waste management, oceans and ªsheries, and endangered species. While articles must focus on contemporary political andpolicy issues, authors and readers will presumably have a range of disciplinary back-grounds, including political science, international relations, sociology, history, hu-man geography, science and technology studies, environmental ethics, law, eco-nomics, and environmental science.

2. The journal is divided into Research Articles and a Forum section. Research Articlesare full-length papers (maximum 8000 words, including footnotes and references)that contain an original contribution to research on global environmental politics.Forum articles comprise short commentaries (2000–3000 words maximum, includ-ing footnotes and references) that should stimulate discussion on salient issues ofinterest to other scholars in the ªeld. The aim of these articles is to provoke thought, discussion, and debate amongst the readership.

3. All articles are refereed. For Research Articles, which go through a rigorous blind re-view process, authors must not explicitly or implicitly reveal their identity on anypage except the title page.

4. All articles must be original. Global Environmental Politics does not review articles al-ready published elsewhere or currently under review by another publisher.

5. Manuscripts should be submitted as a Word document (.doc or .docx) and shouldinclude an abstract of no more than 150 words.

6. For details about GEP style requirements, see the website: http://www.mitpressjournals.org/gep
