• Sports can give us knowledge that we cannot learn in books. In the books, we have learnt many abstract theories, but we have not applied them to the real life. Sports are not simply moving or exercising. Instead, it requires many skills and qualities. We can use the skills we’ve studied in the books in the practical activity. Sometimes, we can consummate the things in the book in real situations.

• Sports help us have a strong body. People feel very tired after they finish doing sports. But actually, they have built a strong body through these exercises. In the research which was done by scientists, over fifty percent of people who was ill less than one time a year has participated in different kinds of sports during spare time. On the other hand, people who do not always do sports are more likely to be ill. In the research, over forty-seven percent of people who do not do sports more easily catch cold in spring and autumn. As a result, sports give us a protection that makes us strong and healthy.

• The Olympic Games are a major international event featuring summer and winter sports, in which thousands of athletes participate in a variety of competitions. The Games are currently held every two years, with Summer and Winter Olympic Games alternating, although they occur every four years within their respective seasonal games. Originally, the ancient Olympic Games were held in Olympia, Greece, from the 8th century BC to the 5th century AD. Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in 1894. The IOC has since become the governing body of the Olympic Movement, whose structure and actions are defined by the Olympic Charter.
