It’s successful lift off for The Image in Stratford-Upon-Avon on launch day!

BusinessBoom! You came, you saw, you enjoyed the show! We’re not talking about that latest love-filled performance of Romeo and Juliet courtesy of the Royal Shakespeare Company,

but the launch of The Image in Stratford-upon-Avon and the surrounding areas. Bravo!

We’re delighted to

announce that the launch event, which ran from

4pm until 9pm on Tuesday 18th May has been a

huge success for the magazine, attended by many local business people, Mayor of Stratford Jenny Fradgley… and mysteriously a local magician. Representatives from Tana Travel, Cogent Finance, Bubbles, Neil Harvey, Freedom Forever, Business Over Breakfast Club, The Fountain Cleaners and

The Bull’s Head all came along to enjoy the bustling sunshine and each other’s company. The event even caught the attention of local support officers, passers-by and tourists who couldn’t resist a cheeky pint (or two) by the river.

The event’s main attraction, an unmissable vintage double decker bus parked on The Bancroft, Waterside proved to be the centrepiece we’d hope for. Charlotte Holmes, The Image Designer was taken back; “We wanted to create a professional image in Stratford for people who don’t know about us, and Deckerdence provided just that. When people see Deckerdence, everyone loves it and is completely amazed by such a unique creation!”

Helen and Jano, owners of the dashing mobile bar look forward to working with us again in the future; “We think this event has been as good for raising our profile, as it has been for The Image.”

The event was born in celebration of issue number one of the publication, for which 10,000 copies were distributed to homes and businesses in Stratford and surround areas. A host of new deals with local businesses were made on the day, and we’re delighted that our circulation is already growing through our new and exciting e-magazine online at our website www.theimage-stratford.co.uk. Charlotte quotes “With so much early interest it’s been a great start for The Image as we aim to reach a circulation of 15,000 in the near future. We are much more than an advertising magazine and aim to go the extra mile for local businesses who want to get themselves out there – this is just the start!”

Weight LossBlood Sugar Balance and Exercise – the key to weight loss and good health!

So what is blood sugar and why will it help me lose weight?

The Imagehealth and well-beingTips

The blood sugar level is the amount of glucose (sugar) in the blood. Whenever your blood sugar level rises, your body produces insulin, which helps to transport the sugar out of your blood into your cells. It also converts any excess sugar into fat so if you eat a high sugar/high refined carbohydrate meal, you will produce more insulin, and as more insulin is produced, more sugar is turned to fat.

So controlling weight really starts with controlling your blood sugar.

Here are some pointers on how you can do this:1. Eat 3 meals a day and snack on fruit and nuts/seeds.2. Consume complex carbohydrates (oats, brown rice, root vegetables, lentils).3. Eat protein rich foods at every meal (poultry, fish, beans, tofu).4. Increase the amount of essential fats you eat (see page 8)5. Cut down on stimulants such as tea, coffee, chocolate, cigarettes and alcohol.

Exercise Exercise has been shown to have a significant blood sugar balancing effect. People who take no exercise have exaggerated appetites, so the pounds pile on.

So, go and get fit, build muscle, feel healthy and most importantly, lose weight!

Here are the most important rules you must consider in order to get that beach body.

• Figure out exactly what you want, write it down and read it every day. If you don’t know what you want how will you ever know if you’ve got there!

• Get a proper structured workout. It’s amazing how many people do the same thing in the gym every day and expect to change their body shape. Do what you’ve always done and you’ll get what you’ve always got.

• Do resistance training. If you really want to supercharge your metabolism and blast fat then use resistance exercises. These can be done using your body weight, squats for example or you can use other equipment like dumb bells or kettle bells for example.

• Do NOT do long, slow paced cardiovascular training. Doing short and fast bursts of cardio training is scientifically shown to burn a lot of calories and raise your metabolic rate.

• Change your workout every 2 - 4 weeks and train hard. 100% effort will always give 100% results.

The technical bit!Walnuts have often been thought of as a “brain food,” not only because of the wrinkled brain-like appearance but because of their high concentration of omega-3 essential fats. They are essential because the body cannot produce this on its own and therefore must receive it through the diet.

Omega-3 fats found in walnuts, salmon, mackerel, flaxseeds are crucial for healthy growing brains and may help kids with their memory, concentration, learning and attention span.

Stuck for ideas for the kids this summer? Here’s some top tips from the experts for days out, things to do at home and we even have Stratford’s own Super Nanny at hand for extra support!

If you have pension funds over £50,000 and you would like a pension/retirement audit, please contact us. We will offer a FREE 1 Hour consultation for all individuals who contact us from this advert.

In answer to the question, I suggest that it is very difficult to predict the best time to retire since most people do so either at a particular age or possibly for health reasons. However, whatever your retirement plans, there are always means by which you can improve your pension benefits by optimising performance through the financial market.

I recently spoke to a member of the general public who informed me that he had just retired and decided to accept the benefits offered by his pension provider. I enquired if he taken advice from any organisation other than his pension provider on this very important decision? Unfortunately for him he hadn’t.

Let me explain why it is not the best course of action to simply rely on your pension provider to obtain the best deal for you.

There are many retirement options in the financial market place and I know from experience that people find the process of deciding between them most confusing. If we take the person mentioned above, how can he be sure that the Annuity selected by his pension provider was the one best suited to him? Why did he not explore the other types of retirement planning options? Annuities can be tailored to fit an individual’s circumstances such as health, martial status and flexibility; they can also be investment linked. This particular person had accepted the illustration from his pension provider without question even though this might not be the best in the market or the best for his personal requirements. Many companies rely on consumer trust and, to some extent apathy, with he result that 70% of the

people accept the basic offer and do not go on to investigate the open market. Most pension funds do in fact have an open market option which allows the individual to go to the market to try and improve on the terms offered.

Around 3.6 million people will reach retirement age over the next five years with many more ‘Baby Boomers’ to follow. If you intend to retire in the next ten years you really need to review your options - and to review them now. Getting your retirement funding wrong will seriously affect the quality of your retirement.

There are several different hire options available, and it is this flexibility, along with the originality of the set-up, which is proving to be the key to success. Helen and Giovanni particularly enjoy the diversity of events for which their bus bar is so popular – from race meetings to weddings to classic car rallys and festivals. “We absolutely love running this business” said Helen “every hire exceeds our client’s expectations, the bus just makes everyone smile, it’s such a novelty and great fun”. Indeed, the hosts provide many added value extras, such as locating a suitable venue if necessary, support with event planning and efficiently running the party from start to finish.

The bus is styled beautifully, with a large traditional oak bar in the lower deck – which serves via the bus side windows – chilled draft beer, lagers, cider and guinness, along with wines and spirits. Upstairs in the top deck guests are always amazed to find a fabulous luxury cocktail lounge – complete with kitch mirrored cocktail bar and resident waitress – who will freshly prepare

delicious (and heady) cocktails late into the night! The old bus seats have been removed throughout and the bus is now panelled in oak, beautifully lit, and has gorgeous hand sewn red leather seating inside.

The bespoke marquee is the only one like it ever made. Holding up to 300 guests, it is a very atmospheric space which can be adapted for many different purposes. Most typically used for weddings or birthday parties, it is also great for music events, fashion shows and product launches. If required the marquee may also be attached to another, larger marquee at balls or big events thus providing an unusual bar or entertainment space. For more intimate parties, there is a reduced size version of the marquee available, or an awning.

Deckerdence is in its second year now, and has already notched up many satisfied customers, especially newly weds. Hire prices are kept as low as possible, so to have the whole thing is no more expensive than a decent marquee would be, but you get the bus in the middle and all bar staff as well – not to mention a night to remember forever. So if you desire a celebration that will stand out from all others, and never be forgotten by your guests, then consider what Deckerdence has to offer.

Deckerdenceis a unique and highly individual venue, dreamt up and created by owners Helen Bleakman and Giovanni Caffo, based near Droitwich. In 2008 they lovingly converted a vintage double decker bus into a high spec mobile bar, complete with huge wraparound marquee, which may be hired for wedding receptions, civil partnerships, private parties, corporate and outdoor events.
