From the Principal’s desk…

What a busy week it has been at Ungarie

Central School, for both staff and students!

On Monday we had our annual school photos.

It was great to hear some positive feedback

from the photographer who said our school

was the best one he had been to, with our

students and staff making it easy from him to

take the photos. He even commented that he’d

never had a quieter school when he was taking

the whole school photo. You could almost hear

a pin drop, which is not easy with over 100

students and staff in the photo! Well done to

students for your exemplary behaviour on the

day.

On Tuesday our PSSA AFL team competed at

the West Wyalong Gala day. The boys won

their game against Lake Cargelligo Central

School however lost against the older West

Wyalong Public School team. What a great

effort from our students from Years 3-6! We

must also thank those students from

Tullibigeal Central School and Tallimba Public

School who joined our team. Congratulations

to Tyler Crofts, Patrick McClintock, Lewis

Henley, Mitchell Collins and Ethan Robb who

were selected to trial for the Western Area

team in Parkes.

Good luck to our students who are swimming

at the Western PSSA Swimming Carnival in

Dubbo today and the CHSSA Swimming

Carnival tomorrow. We know you will try your

best as always and look forward to hearing the

results.

Tomorrow is the beginning of our School

Vaccination Program for 2019. It is important

that all students in Years 7 and 10 are at school

tomorrow if they are well. Students who miss

vaccine doses due to absence on the day of the

visit may be offered catch-up vaccination at

subsequent school clinics. Where this is not

possible, parents will be advised that free

catch-up vaccine is available at their local GP.

When students are absent, daily text messages

are sent out to parents. Don’t forget that

replying to the text message with an

explanation of the absence is perfectly

acceptable.

Have a great remainder of the week!

Ungarie participated in the PSSA AFL Gala Day at West Wyalong on

Tuesday 12th March. The boys were joined by several students from

Tullibigeal Central School and one Tallimba Public School student.

First up, the boys met a tall and mature West Wyalong side. Our boys

gave it everything but unfortunately went down. It was a different

story in the second game, when Ungarie played Lake Cargelligo. The

boys worked hard as a team and under the guidance of Steve Henley,

were able to walk away with a win. Well done boys. .

Congratulations to everyone for displaying great sportsmanship on

the field. A special congratulations must go to Lewis Henley, Ethan

Robb, Patrick McClintock, Mitchell Collins and Tyler Crofts who were

selected to attend the Western Region Trials at Parkes on the 28th of

March.

Thank you to Jason for transporting the team and a huge thanks to

Steve for coaching on the day. Mrs Wilson
