Join us for an escape room
inspired by Harry Potter. You'll
use clues, puzzles, and other
tools to strategize your way
out of the library's program
room. Time is of the essence,
since you will only have 20 minutes to escape!
Advance registration is required. Time slots available from
12:00pm-4:30pm each day.
Teams of 2-8 players per session. This event is geared
toward a family experience, but it may be too complex for
small children. All children must be accompanied by an
adult.
All donations will be matched by Lori’s Lick’em Up
In the Woods by Tana French
Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7
On a warm evening in the summer of 1984, three
children do not return from the dark and silent woods.
When the police arrive, they find only one of the children gripping a tree
trunk in terror and unable to recall a single detail of
the previous hours.
Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin
Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret. But when
a twelve-year-old girl is found murdered in the
same woods, he and Detective Cassie Maddox—
his partner and closest friend—find themselves
investigating a case chillingly similar to the
previous unsolved mystery.

We have very exciting news to announce…we’re getting some library updates! We’ve
met with a local design firm and have made plans to bring in carpet, some new furniture, and some new features. One of my favorite features is a small group study
area, but I’m also excited that we’ll have an updated library layout that will better meet the needs of our staff and our community (see pictured plans of the new layout). These updates are certainly exciting, but we’ll need a lot of help to pull it all
off. We will need plenty of help boxing up materials, dismantling shelves, clearing out our space, and then putting it all back again. We hope to incorporate as many community volunteers as possible to accomplish the feat. Community Service hours
for high school students will be honored. If you’d like to help with our efforts to update our space, please contact me at [email protected] or (586)329-1261 to
sign up.
More ways to help will be forthcoming. A small "wish list" of items that we had hoped our project would include, but our budget did not allow is coming soon. We could use
help raising funds for those items as well.
The soft target date for our project completion is late September/early October. We’re
still working to finalize our plans, but we also wanted everyone to be aware that these changes are happening, we need your help, and that the library may be closed for a
short period of time while these updates happen. Thank you so much for your help, your support, and most of all your patience as our project develops.
Looking forward to the new look!
~Melissa
