Discovery Science CenterHOLIDAY MEMBERS EVENTWritten by ANDREA LEE, ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR; Northwood High

On December 5th, Northwood Key Club volunteers went to the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana, and assisted with a variety of activity stations. is special event was held only for annual pass holders, which attracted many parents and their children to come. Some stations were interactive such as the Gingerbread Derby, where volunteers helped chchildren build their own race car out of edible treats. Other tasks included greeting members as they enter or leave the center, and managing the line for members to take photos with Santa. For my job, I, along with other Key Club members, specifically helped with supervising the snack station located near the entrance. Even though the various

treats were very mouthwatering, it was an overall fun experience to assist the people as they walk by and grab treats. Wearing gloves, we passed out napkins along with cookies, donuts, rice cereal treats, and cupcakes to the guests. Not only that, we also had to restock on the food or drinks if they any ever ran out. Even though the job may have seemed tedious, watching the guests smile and enenjoying their treat really made this experience worthwhile. We also got to meet other students from Garden Grove High School who were volunteering as well. Overall, this experience was really enjoyable because I got to interact with people. Volunteering at this event has encouraged me to volunteer at another Discover Science Center event.

FAMILIES FORWARDholiday program

Written by Tina Ghumman, D41N Executive Assistant; Woodbridge High

On Monday, November 25th, from 2-4 PM, Woodbridge Key Clubbers attended an event with the Families Forward organization to give back to the community and prepare cans of food that would be distributed to less fortunate Orange County families. Organizing, labeling, and

packaging cans for the Families’ Forward holiday food program was a great opportunity to serve our community. Families Forward also provides families with holiday meals, trees, or gifts through their holiday program. Overall, it was a great way to experience the spirit of giving during the holidays!

DCM: SANDWICH SERVICE!Written by Jonathan Fu, Vice President of Spirit; Northwood

In the week right aer anksgiving, Key Clubbers of Division D41 North gathered at Bill Barber Park, Irvine, for a monthly divisional council meeting. However, aer the meeting, attendees jumped right into community service, by hand-making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless shelter. e sandwich makers ththemselves crowded around four tables, with designated people manning the peanut butter, jelly, and the Ziploc bags. Aer approximately two hours

of sandwich preparation, the D41N Key Clubbers produced around 15 loaves worth of PBJ sandwiches! e sandwiches are now delivered, and not only did the experience serve the community, but also the D41N Key Clubbers themselves, who met new faces and learned new names. Our support goes out to those at the shelter who haven’t had the bebest of luck, and thank the food drive for providing us such a great opportunity to give back!

- Froggies worked efficiently with some people spreading jam and others spreading peanut butter.

Also, I wanted to thank Kevin Chu from the Division 4 East Goldshies who took the time to come to our November DCM and took some incredible photos of us Froggies hard at work.

Anywho, I wish you all a merry Christmas and happy holidays!
