Topic: Executive Compensation: Does Performance Matter?

As market turmoil unfolds the predominant focus is placed upon the rigour of risk management with questions being asked about the stability and viability of entities across the financial spectrum. How did they expose themselves to such positions? Was the structure of executive compensation a cause of the pursuit of short term profits which contributed towards the present turmoil? What needs to be done to prevent a reoccurrence of such a crisis?
