The Word of God
Opening Acclamation
Alleluia. Christ is risen.
Christ is risen indeed. Alleluia.
Hymn Hymnal, #516
Come down, O Love divine
3
The Collect of the Day
God be with you.
And also with you.
Let us pray.
O God, who on this day taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them
the light of your Holy Spirit: Grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all
things, and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through Jesus Christ your Son our
Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever
and ever. Amen.
The Reading Acts 2:1-21
A Reading from the Acts of the Apostles.
When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And
suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled
the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among
them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability.
Now there were devout Jews from every nation under heaven living in Jerusalem.
And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered, because each one heard
4
them speaking in the native language of each. Amazed and astonished, they asked,
“Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each of us,
in our own native language? Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and residents of
Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt
and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and
proselytes, Cretans and Arabs—in our own languages we hear them speaking about
God’s deeds of power.” All were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What
does this mean?” But others sneered and said, “They are filled with new wine.”
But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them, “Men of
Judea and all who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to what I say.
Indeed, these are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is only nine o’clock in the morning.
No, this is what was spoken through the prophet Joel:
‘In the last days it will be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams.
Even upon my slaves, both men and women,
in those days I will pour out my Spirit;
and they shall prophesy.
And I will show portents in the heaven above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and smoky mist.
The sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before the coming of the Lord’s great and glorious day.
Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ ”
The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

Gospel John 15:26-27; 16:4b-15
The Holy Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ according to John.
Glory to you, Lord Christ.
Jesus said to his disciples, “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from
the Father, the Spirit of truth who comes from the Father, he will testify on my behalf.
You also are to testify because you have been with me from the beginning.
“I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you. But
now I am going to him who sent me; yet none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’
But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your hearts. Nevertheless
I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the
Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and
judgment: about sin, because they do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I
am going to the Father and you will see me no longer; about judgment, because the
ruler of this world has been condemned.
“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. When the Spirit
of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own,
but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to
come. He will glorify me, because he will take what is mine and declare it to you.All
that the Father has is mine. For this reason I said that he will take what is mine and
declare it to you.”
The Gospel of our Savior.
Praise to you, Lord Christ.
Reflection The Rev. David Erickson

The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Prayers Of The People
In faith, we pray to the God who moves and flows, breathing the wisdom of Divine
love over all of creation.
Restore to wholeness whatever is broken by human shortcomings, in our lives, in our
nation and in the world. Lead in the ways of truth and love.
Come, Holy Spirit, and be among us.
Unsettle us with visions and dreams that will align us with You. Jolt us from our
inertia to become sparks of action. Fill our lives with fiery power.
Come, Holy Spirit, and be among us.
Transform our languishing into joy, our anxieties into peace, our despair into hope. We
pray for those who suffer from any distress or illness. Enter our lives with your healing
presence.
Come, Holy Spirit, and be among us.
Welcome into your realm those who have died and give comfort to all those who
grieve. Embrace them with your abiding presence.
Come, Holy Spirit, and be among us.
Shape our weary and downtrodden spirits into those that are on fire to care for
reinvigorating the wholeness of God’s creation. Renew its fragile beauty.
Come, Holy Spirit, and be among us.
Fill our hearts with gratitude for the many blessings and graces that enrich our
lives. Remind us that all good gifts come from you.
Come, Holy Spirit, and be among us.
Creator God and Giver of Life, receive our prayers; hear our hearts’ deepest yearnings,
yet to be formed by words. Give us the courage to yield ourselves, all that we are and
have yet to become, to the transforming motion of your Holy Spirit, and carry out in us
and through us your work of new creation. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ,
the risen and living one. Amen.

The Peace
The peace of Christ be always with you.
And also with you.
Those gathered in the courtyard may exchange a sign of peace while remaining safely distanced
from one another.
Greeting
The Holy Communion
Musical Offering
O Taste and See Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958)
O taste and see how gracious the Lord is: blest is the man that trusteth in him.
-Psalm 34:8
The Great Thanksgiving
May God be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
All thanks and praise are yours at all times and in all places, our true and loving
God; through Jesus Christ, your eternal Word, the Wisdom from on high by whom you
created all things.
You laid the foundations of the world and enclosed the sea when it burst out from the
womb; You brought forth all creatures of the earth and gave breath to humankind.
Wondrous are you, Holy One of Blessing,
all you create is a sign of hope for our journey;
And so as the morning stars sing your praises we join the heavenly beings and all
creation as we shout with joy:
10
Sanctus & Benedictus
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
Glory and honor are yours, Creator of all,
your Word has never been silent;
you called a people to yourself, as a light to the nations, you delivered them from
bondage and led them to a land of promise.
Of your grace, you gave Jesus
to be human, to share our life,
to proclaim the coming of your holy reign
and give himself for us, a fragrant offering.
Through Jesus Christ our Redeemer, you have freed us from sin,
brought us into your life, reconciled us to you, and restored us to the glory you intend
for us.
We thank you that on the night before he died for us Jesus took bread, and when he
had given thanks to you, he broke it, gave it to his friends and said:
“Take, eat, this is my Body, broken for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.”
After supper Jesus took the cup of wine, said the blessing, gave it to his friends and
said:
“Drink this, all of you: this cup is the new Covenant in my Blood, poured out for you
and for all
for the forgiveness of sin.
Do this for the remembrance of me.”
And so, remembering all that was done for us:
the cross, the tomb, the resurrection and ascension, longing for Christ’s coming in
glory, and presenting to you these gifts
your earth has formed and human hands have made, we acclaim you, O Christ:
Dying, you destroyed our death.
Rising, you restored our life.
Christ Jesus, come in glory!
11
Send your Holy Spirit upon us
and upon these gifts of bread and wine
that they may be to us the Body and Blood of your Christ.
Grant that we, burning with your Spirit’s power, may be a people of hope, justice and
love.
Giver of Life, draw us together in the Body of Christ, and in the fullness of time gather
us with blessed Mary, the Christ-bearer and all your people into the joy of our true
eternal home. Through Christ and with Christ and in Christ, by the inspiration of your
Holy Spirit, we worship you our God and Creator in voices of unending praise.
Blessed are you now and for ever. AMEN.
The Lord’s Prayer
As our Savior Christ has taught us, we now pray,
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your Name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial
and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours,
now and forever. Amen.
The Breaking of the Bread
Alleluia, alleluia. Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.
Therefore let us keep the feast. Alleluia, alleluia.
Invitation
The Gifts of God for the People of God. Take them in remembrance that Christ died for
you, and feed on him in your hearts by faith, with thanksgiving.
12
Communion Rubric
All seeking God are welcome at Christ’s Table.
For those worshiping in person, please follow the directions given by the Celebrant. Wafers will
be distributed by the Celebrant in front of the altar. The Celebrant will place the wafer into your
outstretched palm taking care not to touch your hand. After being given a wafer, take it back to
your place while remaining masked. Once you have returned to your place, you are invited to
remove your mask, receive Communion, and replace your mask.
◆ If you prefer a gluten-free wafer, simply ask the priest for one at the time of Communion.
◆ If you would prefer a blessing instead of the Eucharist, please cross your arms over
your chest.
◆ Communion is currently being offered in one kind. The full grace of the sacrament is received
with only the bread.
Those worshiping at home are invited to pray the following from St. Augustine’s Prayer Book:
O Christ,
I believe that you are truly present in the Holy Sacrament,
and, since I cannot at this time receive communion, I pray you to come into my heart. I
unite myself with you and embrace you with all my heart, my soul, and my mind. Let
nothing separate me from you; let me serve you in this life
until, by your grace, I come to your glorious kingdom and unending peace. Amen.
Musical Offering
Veni Creator Spiritus Plainsong, mode 8
Come, Holy Ghost, our souls inspire, and lighten with celestial fire. Thou the anointing
Spirit art, who dost thy sevenfold gifts impart. Thy blessed unction from above is
comfort, life, and fire of love. Enable with perpetual light the dullness of our blinded
sight. Anoint and cheer our soiled face with the abundance of thy grace. Keep far our
foes, give peace at home: where thou art guide, no ill can come. Teach us to know the
Father, Son, and thee, of both, to be but One, that through the ages all along, this may
be our endless song: praise to thy eternal merit, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-Latin, 9th cent.; tr. John Cosin (1594-1672)
13
Post-Communion Prayer
Let us pray.
God of abundance,
you have fed us
with the bread of life and salvation;
you have united us
with Christ and one another;
and you have made us one
with all your people in heaven and on earth.
Now send us forth
in the power of your Spirit,
that we may proclaim your redeeming love to the world
and continue for ever
in the risen life of Christ our Savior. Amen.
Blessing
Dismissal
Let us go forth into the world, rejoicing in the power of the Spirit. Alleluia,
alleluia.
Thanks be to God. Alleluia, alleluia.

HERE on Zoom at 10:45.
CHILDREN’S & YOUTH CHOIR MUSICAL
Join us at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 6 for a
brand new children’s choir musical written
by Marla Perkins. This is a special piece
conceived for Zoom performance, and
traces the healing narratives of Jesus from
the Bible. Please come and support the
wonderful work of our choristers, and their
faithful Director, Marla!
On June 6th, this 10:00am Morning Prayer
will be our only virtual worship service;
there is no Family Service at 9:00am that
day.
JOIN US FOR THE JUNE 12TH
ECOCONFIRMATION!
After an unusual zoom Confirmation Class
this year, we are delighted that nine youth
from St. Mary’s will be confirmed at the
ecoConfirmation at 9am on Saturday, June
12th, to be held at Blackie’s Pasture in
Tiburon.
Easing of pandemic restrictions means that
the liturgy is open to everyone! So please
join us if you can.
Some of the logistics are different this year.
Families will probably be gathered in pods
3-6 feet apart and the service will last less
than an hour. Some elders might appreciate
a lawn chair. Please plan for variable Bay
Area weather (layers of hiking outfits with
flat shoes). Although there is a good
parking lot, please try to limit the number
of cars for each family as this is a popular
trailhead. This is the link to the Google map
for the site.
We rejoice with the young people who are
being confirmed and do hope you can
celebrate with us! If you have any
questions, contact the Assoc. Rector

MINISTRY CELEBRATION BOOKLET:
WE NEED YOUR MINISTRY STORIES!
We are celebrating all ministries at our
mid-year check in on Sunday June 27th.
As a part of that celebration, we will be
producing a booklet of ministry stories and
pictures from the last year.
We invite all ministries to submit a
reflection on their ministry by Monday,
June 7th. Reflection should be 500 words or
less, and ideally include pictures that
reflect your ministry in this unique year.
We ask ministry volunteers to partner with
their ministry leadership and other
volunteers in creating and submitting their
reflections. Should you have any questions,
you may reach out to the vestry liaison to
your ministry, which can be found HERE,
or you may email our parish administrator,
Ashley Ryan, at [email protected].
We are excited to celebrate and share with
