This past week in OSHC… Hi everyone,

We’ve had a great week in Before School Care. We’ve been designing a dolls house! At the start of the term I

brought in a plain dolls house for the children to decorate and play with. Over the past week, the children drew up

a floor plan, measured each room and picked out paint colours for each room. It’s been great to watch them

negotiate colours between

themselves.

Over the next two weeks we’ve focusing on our mums, grandma’s and guardians for Mothers Day. For one of our

craft activities we would really love to use a picture of each child with their mum/guardian or a photo of the family. If

they could bring one in this week or next, that would be fabulous.

I would also like to mention that over the next 6 weeks you may drop in and see a different co-ordinator. I’m

currently on placement so I’ve had to miss 1 shift a week over this time. Don’t worry though Sharon who is a

familiar face has taken my place on these days and she is really excited to hang out with the children.

Thanks have a great week.

Bree

Hi everyone,

With the cold weather now here it is the perfect time to remind you that at After School Care it is compulsory to

wear a jumper when outside during terms 2 and 3. We have this rule as the air can be quite chilly when we go

outside after 3:00. It is important that all your children have their jumpers clearly named as we do run around a lot

and they are often taken off. I try my best to return all the clothing that is left behind, but it is really hard when there

is no name on them. I thank you in advance for your help with this.

Last week we had an amazing week learning all about ANZAC day and why we celebrate it, the children had a

great time making their own set of medals and I even saw a few of them being worn at our special ANZAC day

assembly. Well done everybody.

This week we have seen so many new friendships form and lots of new games being played. The children have

been showing me new games they have learnt, and games they think can be incorporated into our program. I am

so proud to have children attending the program that have the confidence to put their ideas forward and teach the

group the rules. I love that we have such confident independent children.

We have settled back into the routine of the service now and it is time to work on some things. We will be focusing

on washing our dishes. We have always had the children wash their own dishes as it is a great life skill for all

children to have. We have noticed recently that some children think dipping their bowls into the hot water is

enough. If you could help out and allow your children to help you with the dishes in the morning or after dinner it

would be great. I thank you for your support with this.

Thanks for your time,

Mel
