You will

a research-based, written report (ca. 2000 words)

a presentation to a non-specialist audience

Read widely, and deeply in a subject area that fascinates you; focus and define a project appropriate to constraints of time and resources.

Management skills
The best projects will:• Clearly identify the topic to be researched
• Demonstrate appropriate aims and objectives of proposed title
• Include a detailed project plan, demonstrating progress against agreed project plan.
Project-development skills
The best projects will:• Demonstrate the project has been fulfilled.
• Explain reasons for changes to initial project plan
• Communicate their research findings clearly in an appropriate format
Analytical and communication skills
The best projects will:• Present relevant, well-structured material which
meets aims and addresses project title
• Analyse what went well with and what could be improved about finished essay.
Research skills
The best projects will: • Select and evaluate a wide range of relevant
resources
• Demonstrate a connection between research conducted and its objectives.

What can I cover?
• Project topic must come from outside a subject taken at GCSE.
• You should be able to tackle the topic within a ca. 2000-word essay
• Can be on the boundary of disciplines
